11 Signs Someone You Care About Is In Full Fledged AI Psychosis, According To Research

As they become more and more present in our day-to-day lives, we’re learning that while frequent interactions with AI and Chatbots can sometimes be beneficial to a person’s mental health, relying on them too often and with too much intensity can come with serious risks. Especially considering these programs are designed to be generally empathetic and always agreeable, behaviors and patterns of thinking that would likely be red flags in conversations with another human may be encouraged by AI companions. As people spend more of their time engaging with artificial intelligence, more evidence is emerging of the existence of “AI psychosis,” which, while not a clinical diagnosis, is described by Marlynn Wei, M.D., J.D., as a phenomenon in which “AI models have amplified, validated, or even co-created psychotic symptoms with individuals.” Even when it comes to skipping traditional research or even Googling in favor of asking AI to solve a problem, the isolation that may accompany leaning on digital convenience can lead to a distortion of reality we have never encountered before in all of human …

Future of Claudia Winkleman’s chat show revealed after ratings reveal

Claudia Winkleman is set to land a second series of her chat show. The Traitors host interviewed Jeff Goldblum, Vanessa Williams, Jennifer Saunders and Tom Allen in the first episode of her new BBC One programme, The Claudia Winkleman Show, last month, and she was rewarded with a viewership of 2.5 million in the first seven days. In the ratings battle, Claudia defeated long-running series The Graham Norton Show, which had 2.3 million viewers. An insider told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “That’s a particular bonus for them because it shows that the younger, more online-friendly market are interested in the show. “And that looks like she’s brought them across from her time fronting The Traitors which had a very broad market. “That kind of shift really matters to the execs as that’s where they see the future of telly lying.” Following the show’s early success, the BBC are already expected to offer Claudia a second series. The insider added: “So it’s understood that Beeb chiefs are poised to rubber stamp another series – …

After Putin’s Guarded Iran War Comments, Medvedev Enters The Chat

Earlier this week President Putin weighed in on America’s Iran operations, and as we detailed his comments were predictably a bit guarded. He had compared the war and the Hormuz Strait closure – and subsequent impact on global energy – to the massive widescale impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. But fundamentally he highlighted the “unpredictable” nature of the conflict in terms of where it’s headed, as Washington appears to be searching for an offramp on its terms. On Friday Dmitry Medvedev weighed in, and as expected the former Russian president and current Deputy Chairman of the Security Council was much less guarded in his assessment. He warned at a moment thousands of US Marines and Airborne troop are en route to the Middle East that if the US enters a ground war in Iran it will be another “Vietnam”. American boots on the ground so far from US shores “threatens roughly the same consequences as what happened in Vietnam,” Medvedev said as quotes in NBC and others. “When Washington intervened in a foreign country, located a thousand …

Elijah Wood reveals the ‘LOTR’ group chat name, shares what their daily exchange looks like

The fact that there’s still an active Lord of the Rings group chat after 25 years is a testament to the close bond of hobbits. In the Late Show clip above, Elijah Wood reveals to Stephen Colbert that he still speaks to his fellow cast members every day, and that their group is called “Shire Folk”. “Dom [Monaghan] retitled it ‘Shire Folk’. It was ‘The Hobbits’, but he was like, ‘Ah, it’s too on the nose.’ And we text each other every day,” says Wood. “We do the New York Times Mini Crossword, so we share our scores on there.” Deeply wholesome. Graham Norton breaks silence on Claudia Winkleman’s new BBC chat show after mixed reviews

Claudia Winkleman has received support from fellow broadcaster Graham Norton after her new BBC chat show sparked a mixed reaction from critics.  The presenter’s latest television venture has divided opinion since its launch, with some reviewers describing it as a “mess” and a “bore”. However, Graham was quick to defend his colleague, insisting the show succeeds precisely because it reflects Claudia’s unique presenting style.  Speaking to Daily Mail‘s Richard Eden at the Michael Josephson Farewell Charity Ball in Manchester, the talk show host said: “She shouldn’t be trying to be me. She should be trying to be Claudia – and she nailed that.”  Graham’s support comes as little surprise, however, as his production company, So Television, is behind the programme.  © CREDIT LINE: BBC/So Television/PA MediaThe Claudia Winkleman Show launched on Friday Claudia, who is known for presenting Strictly Come Dancing and The Traitors, has built a reputation for her distinctive humour and offbeat interview style – something fans say sets her apart from more traditional chat show hosts.  For the launch on Friday, 54-year-old …

South Florida University Probes Racist Group Chat Tied to a Local GOP Official

MIAMI (AP) — A South Florida university has launched an investigation into a group chat started by an official with the Miami-Dade chapter of the Republican Party that included violently racist slurs, antisemitic comments and misogynistic language. The university said in a statement on Thursday that the conduct of the students was being investigated by the campus police in coordination with local, state and federal law enforcement. “FIU does not and will not tolerate violence, hate, discrimination, harassment, racism or antisemitism,” said FIU President Jeanette Nunez, a former Florida lieutenant governor and GOP state lawmaker. “This is not who we are. This is not what FIU stands for.” The Republican Party of Florida said in a statement that it was undertaking “an internal review of this situation” and condemned “the repugnant comments,” saying that they were “completely contrary” to what the organization represents.
