Meet 70s star James MacArthur’s famous family – including Agatha Christie actress mother

American actor James MacArthur was a beloved star of the 1970s, best known for his 11-year role as Detective Danny “Danno” Williams on crime drama Hawaii Five-O. Throughout his career, which began when James was a Disney child star, he appeared as Fritz Robinson in Swiss Family Robinson (1960), David Balfour in Kidnapped (1960) and later made a brief appearance in Murder, She Wrote in 1984. However, it was his long-running role on CBS’s Hawaii Five-O that truly won over audiences. Danno served as second-in-command to US naval officer Steve McGarrett, played by Jack Lord, in the elite police task force operating in Hawaii. Seven Dials Viewers Turn To This Agatha Christie Mystery On Netflix

Seven Dials Viewers Turn To This Agatha Christie Mystery On Netflix

After the success of Netflix’s recent Agatha Christie adaptation Seven Dials, another series based on the Queen of Crime’s work is having a resurgence on the platform. More recently, the service has quietly added six seasons of Marple and 13 series of Poirot to their catalogue. According to Metro, Marple began climbing Netflix’s top 10 list earlier this week, with viewers seemingly clambering to watch another classic Agatha Christie adaptation off the back of Seven Dials. Originally airing on ITV in 2004, the drama follows Jane Marple, who uses her sleuthing skills to crack cases in her quaint English village of St Mary Mead. The late Geraldine McEwan brought Marple to life in the first three seasons, before Julia McKenzie took over the role for the latter three. Christie purists be warned, though, that this show takes some liberties with the source material, with the show inserting Marple into other Christie stories that she was not originally included in. Dylan will co-star as Tommy, a meticulous, charming crime writer who has lost his passion but finds it again when whirlwind Tuppence re-enters his life.” Staunton rounds out the trio as Ada — a wry, retired private detective and funny powerhouse who loves her great nephew, Tommy, because he never undermines her. “Only a fool would do so,” teases BritBox.
