Samsung’s new feature just convinced me to dump Google Wallet for good

For Samsung users, the debate between Google Pay and Samsung Wallet has long been a wash. If you own a Samsung Galaxy phone, it is highly likely that you, like me, have both Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet installed, but typically use Google Pay just for convenience and its universal feel. That could be about to change for good, thanks to a new feature Samsung announced, which fixes the biggest headache I’ve had with Google for a long time. I’ve tried it out, and it might be the thing that finally makes me switch from Google to Samsung Wallet permanently. Related 8 Google Apps I’ve Ditched for Samsung’s Better Alternatives Google’s got gaps. Samsung filled them. What is Samsung’s new “Trips” feature? Trips is a brand-new feature in Samsung Wallet designed to help Samsung Galaxy users organize and manage travel-related experiences in one place. Christopher Dilts | Bloomberg | Getty Images A major crypto PAC suffered a blow after the Illinois Senate Democratic candidate it spent millions opposing won the Tuesday primary and will likely be sworn into office next year. Fairshake, backed by Coinbase, Ripple Labs and venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, spent more than $10 million on ads opposing Illinois Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton in her Democratic primary race for Senate. Stratton has an “F” rating from Stand With Crypto, and took to social media to denounce the “MAGA-backed crypto bros” who were funding ads opposing her. Stratton is all but guaranteed to become the next Illinois senator in November, as the state leans heavily Democratic. Another candidate opposed by Fairshake, La Shawn Ford, also won his primary to become the Democratic nominee for Illinois’ 7th Congressional District. The district heavily leans Democratic, putting Ford on the glide path to Congress. But Fairshake …

‘Scientists’ Dump 65,000 Liters Of Chemicals Into Ocean In Geoengineering Experiment

Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news, In a move that’s raising alarm, researchers have poured 65,000 litres of sodium hydroxide into the Gulf of Maine, claiming it’s a step toward combating climate change through geoengineering.  With unknown effects on marine life, many are worried this experiment reeks of tinkering that could backfire. The trial, dubbed the LOC-NESS project, took place off the Massachusetts coast last August, with scientists from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution leading the charge.  Stop this now!! Every single time arrogant men mess with nature it’s a natural disaster Scientists pump tonnes of chemicals into ocean to stop global warming https://t.co/PXEVDsaug6 — Liz Williams (@Liz4Littletons) March 10, 2026 They argue that boosting ocean alkalinity could suck more CO2 from the atmosphere, turning it into harmless baking soda.  Yet, as globalist agendas push these unproven fixes, freedom-loving skeptics see it as another layer of control over nature without public consent. Over four days, the team added the alkaline chemical, tagged with red dye for tracking, to waters 50 miles off Boston. “These early results demonstrate …

Japan eyes distant island for nuclear waste dump

Get the Popular Science daily newsletter💡 Breakthroughs, discoveries, and DIY tips sent six days a week. Nuclear power is on the rise around the world, but with it comes an extremely pressing question: where will all of the radioactive waste be stored? For Japan, one answer may lie in literally the most remote location at their disposal. Representatives confirmed to the AFP that they are considering the establishment of a nuclear waste burial facility on Minamitorishima, a tiny island located at the furthest edge of Japan’s easternmost territory almost 1,250 miles from Tokyo. At only 0.6 square miles, the triangular island is surrounded by a coral atoll, completely uninhabited, and closed to any tourists or visitors. Speaking to reporters on March 3rd, Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Ryosei Akazawa said Minamitorishima includes “unexplored” areas capable of housing the infrastructure needed for waste disposal, and features “scientifically favorable traits.” Minamitorishima is Japan’s easternmost territory. Illegal dump next to M25 to finally close after lorry tipping out waste gets stuck in mud | UK News

The Environment Agency (EA) has been granted a restriction order to shut Britain’s latest large-scale illegal dump due to “serious harm to human health” and fire concerns.  The 300m (984 feet)-long site, which lies next to the M25 outside Epping in Essex, is set to be shut on Thursday after today’s court decision. Barkingside Magistrates Court also heard that the registered landowner on the site, Patrick Culligan, alleged in an email to the EA that he was not the site’s owner, and denied illegally dumping on the site. Environment Agency has ‘serious questions to answer’ over Britain’s latest massive dump | UK News

The Environment Agency has “very serious questions to answer”, an MP has said – as Britain’s latest large-scale illegal dump remains open 12 months after the agency’s investigation first started. Alex Burghart, the MP for Brentwood and Ongar, where the 300m-long dump is situated, said the site was “absolutely disgusting”. The Conservative politician said: “It’s completely disgraceful that this site should ever have been allowed to get into this condition. Image: Recent ariel images taken by Sky News now show the entire site reduced to little more than landfill. “We know that it’s been under investigation for some time, but how it’s being allowed to accumulate in this way is beyond me.” Mr Burghart, a shadow minister, added that “something has clearly gone badly wrong in this case”. He said: “There should have been preventative measures put up… this is clearly a sign of some sort of breakdown in process. “Ultimately it’s going to come down to the taxpayer to fund cleaning it up. Whereas if it had been stopped sooner, the cost of clean-up …

Evangelicals won’t dump Trump over his racist Obama video

Evangelicals won’t dump Trump over his racist Obama video

Have white evangelicals finally been embarrassed enough by Donald Trump? There were some glimmers of hope that many in the community hit their limit when the president posted a video to Truth Social that included a clip portraying Barack and Michelle Obama as apes. Jamelle Bouie of the New York Times argued that no one should be surprised, as Trump’s entire career has been centered around “his bitter, deep-seated racism.” But even after a decade of pretending not to see it, even some stalwart Trump supporters couldn’t deny the video was the visual equivalent of saying the N-word in public. Along with a handful of congressional Republicans, a number of prominent Christian conservatives condemned the video. Sandi Patty, a legend in gospel and contemporary Christian music, posted a video on Instagram, noting she’s a “registered Republican” but found the video “inexcusable.” The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention issued a statement calling the clip “intentionally derogatory and dehumanizing.” Dr. Russell Moore of Christianity Today, Kay Warren of Saddleback Church and Desiring …

Police make fourth arrest in connection with massive Kidlington rubbish dump | UK News

A fourth person has been arrested in connection with an investigation into a massive illegal waste site.  A 52-year-old man from Ashford, Surrey was arrested on Monday as part of the ongoing Environment Agency (EA) investigation, supported by the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, into the dump in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. The mountain of waste, declared a “critical incident” by the EA, is situated on a site between the River Cherwell and the A34, a busy road running through Oxford towards Birmingham and Manchester. It is 150m long, 15m wide and 10m high. Emma Viner, enforcement and investigations manager in the Environment Agency’s National Environmental Crime Unit, said: “The horrific dumping at Kidlington was a deliberate and organised act with no regard for the impact on the environment or communities. “Our teams continue to work tirelessly with the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit on this investigation. This further arrest will be key in collecting new evidence and delivering justice for local residents.” Last week, two men – a 69-year-old in Andover and a 54-year-old …

What it’s like to live next to a 25,000-tonne illegal waste dump – with rats everywhere | UK News

A mother has told Sky News how her home has become a “prison” which forced her eight-year-old son to move out – after 25,000 tonnes of illegally dumped waste burned for nine days last year. Nicha Rowson, who lives just metres from a major illegal waste site in Bickershaw, Wigan, said the 17-month ordeal has “teared our family apart”. The smell of the dump makes Nicha’s son Oliver, who has autism, so physically ill that he moved out to live with his grandmother. Image: Nicha Rowson, who lives just a few metres from the illegal dump Image: Nicha, her husband and their two sons “It’s put stress on our family, our mental health isn’t great. It’s like being separated parents. Even though me and my partner are together, we’re sharing the child with the grandparents,” Nicha said. “I can’t keep saying, ‘oh soon it’ll be cleared up’ because it isn’t. I don’t know what else I can tell my child, why he has to live in this prison. Because it is, it’s like a prison.” …
