MONTERREY, Mexico, June 29 : Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi said his side had earned respect after knocking the Netherlands out of the World Cup in a penalty shootout on Monday, adding that his players were fuelled by the desire to make the millions watching back home proud. Morocco beat the Dutch 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw to reach the last 16, where they will face co-hosts Canada. AM I READING TOO MUCH INTO THINGS?  It is one thing for a person to buy themselves small rewards to get through a difficult day. But now, this habit is being enthusiastically celebrated online, and it can sometimes feel as though every small task completed warrants more spending. To be fair, the younger generation did not invent this phenomenon.   Some have likened this “little treat” culture to the “lipstick effect” – the tendency for people to indulge in small luxury goods, particularly during economic downturns, because they are more attainable than other big-ticket purchases. The difference, perhaps, is that today’s “little treat” culture is actively packaged as self-care rather than occasional indulgences – a framing that can make it difficult to question. Of course, perhaps I’m reading too much into it. There are people who buy themselves a treat, like dessert, after a long day, without believing they deserve a medal for responding to emails. Lowe has engaged in a public feud with his former party since being suspended, while at the same time, his profile on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has continued to grow. Last September, PoliticsHome reported that Lowe had earned nearly £40,000 from posting on X since his election in 2024, far surpassing Reform UK MPs Farage, Richard Tice and Lee Anderson.  By the end of May 2026, Lowe had earned £72,441, including registering more than £10,000 in payments in April alone. NEW YORK, April 21 : SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell earned $85.8 million in total compensation last year, a company prospectus showed, placing her among the highest‑paid U.S. executives. Shotwell, who is also chief operating officer, earned a salary of $1 million, with most of her compensation coming from stock options and awards, according to an excerpt of SpaceX’s S‑1 filing. Companies use the registration document to disclose their finances and risks before going public. Elon Musk’s SpaceX has filed confidentially for a U.S. IPO, Reuters reported this month, paving the way for a potential record‑breaking listing valued at around $1.75 trillion. Chief Financial Officer Bret Johnson earned total compensation of $9.8 million, while billionaire CEO Musk, the majority shareholder in SpaceX, paid himself a salary of $54,080, the excerpt from the prospectus showed. The recording industry reached a milestone of $11.5 billion in U.S. sales last year, propelled by the continued surge in vinyl records and the enduring appeal of Taylor Swift. Vinyl record sales accounted for more than $1 billion in U.S. sales in 2025, up more than 9%, according to the Recording Industry Assn. of America’s annual report. The U.S. generates nearly 50% of the format’s global total, making it the leader among other physical music formats. This is also the first time vinyl records have reached over $1 billion in revenue since 1983. “Fans are consuming music from the artists they love in more ways than ever, and that passion is reflected in today’s report. 2025 reveals a strong and stable music economy resulting from committed label investment and identification of new spaces to expand artists’ creativity,” Matt Bass, RIAA’s vice president of research, said in a statement.
