Is perimenopause sabotaging your eyebrows?

Is perimenopause sabotaging your eyebrows?

They say you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone, and right now I’m quietly eulogising my fading arches. Despite my Scandi-hued hair now being almost entirely bottle-born, I began life as a bona fide blonde. My brows, pale and perennially sparse, were never the main characters of my face. I’m not unfamiliar with a bit of facial topiary and definitely flirted with a Tweezerman in the 90s, but those Kate Moss pencil lines never suited me, so I avoided the over-plucking trap my boomer mum had warned me about. After more than two decades as a beauty editor, I even dabbled with microblading before it became de rigueur, and survived the Tens era of big, bold brows with the help of a few strategic products. Still, brows were never really my focal point. Until suddenly they were. Cassie’s case of the missing brows Arches gone AWOL On a recent press trip, armed with new reading glasses and confronted by a brutally honest magnifying mirror, I saw my face in full HD. What I …

As Ted Sarandos Went to the Senate, Michelle Obama’s ‘Becoming’ Raised Eyebrows on Netflix

As Ted Sarandos Went to the Senate, Michelle Obama’s ‘Becoming’ Raised Eyebrows on Netflix

Netflix can’t move forward with its proposed deal for Warner Bros. Discovery unless the federal government approves the merger. Meanwhile, Paramount Skydance—run by David Ellison, whose father, Larry Ellison, is a longtime Trump ally—has been attempting to coordinate a $108 billion hostile takeover of WBD. Variety reports that Senator Cory Booker invited David Ellison to the Netflix-Sarandos hearing, but the Paramount Skydance CEO declined to attend due to the WBD board’s rejection of its offer. Even so, Ellison has remained vocal about his disdain for the proposed Netflix-WBD deal. On Thursday, Ellison published an open letter to the UK creative community suggesting that Netflix’s takeover of the WBD library would create a “monopolistic or dominant entity,” per Deadline. Cinema United, the trade organization for theater owners that was previously known as the National Association of Theatre Owners, made its own objections to the proposed deal in a six-page statement to the Senate committee that was released publicly on Thursday. A merger would be “economically and culturally catastrophic” for the entertainment industry, the statement reads. But …

Sydney Sweeney Raises Eyebrows With Fresh Comments About Her Political Stance

Sydney Sweeney has sparked plenty of conversation on social media after doubling down on her stance about not talking politics. The Euphoria actor was recently asked by Cosmopolitan whether there was a future in which people will get to see what her political beliefs are, to which Sydney responded: “No.” “I’m not a political person,” she elaborated. “I’m in the arts. I’m not here to speak on politics. That’s not an area I’ve ever even imagined getting into. It’s not why I became who I am.” Sydney continued: “I became an actor because I like to tell stories, but I don’t believe in hate in any form. “I believe we should all love each other and have respect and understanding for one another.” These comments are the latest development stemming from Sydney’s controversial American Eagle ad campaign, which was celebrated by Donald Trump, and riffed on a “great jeans/great genes” double entendre. At the time, critics pointed out that its centring of a blonde, white woman along with language that could be seen to mirror …

The Oscar-winning star of Good Will Hunting was asked about “cancel culture” during an appearance on Joe Rogan’s US podcast to promote his new film. Rogan, who regularly rallies against supposed cancel culture, asked Damon for his thoughts on the matter, while arguing that cancellation means that one infraction is “exaggerated to the fullest extent” and a person is subsequently “cast out of civilisation for life”. Damon seemed responsive to this definition, replying “[and] in perpetuity”. The actor added: “Because I bet some of those people would have preferred to go to jail for 18 months or whatever, and then come out and say, ‘I paid my debt. Like, we’re done. Like, can we be done?’” “The thing about that – getting kind …
