The Far-Right ‘Terror Plot’ That Didn’t Exist… Until The UK Government And Media Just Said It Did

Authored by Steven Tucker via dailysceptic.org, Did you see that huge Muslim gathering held in Suffolk recently, which had to be called off early due to a major far-Right terror plot being hatched against it? You may well have done, as the news was all over the media and referenced in alarmist tones by leading politicians, up to and including the Prime Minister (both the ones we’ve had this week). But did you also see that the ‘plot’ didn’t even exist? Quite possibly not, because the subsequent release of everyone concerned (bar one aberrant and misleading exception, who we’ll come to later) didn’t get anything like as much space in the media, and no mention at all from any of the politicians who had so eagerly jumped the imaginary gun to condemn it. Empty threats The disrupted event, called the UK Ijtima, attracted 15,000 members of the Religion of Peace from around the world to gather in the grounds of the country estate of Shrubland Hall in Barham to engage in events of a peacefully …

Democrats Bank on Republicans Nominating Far-Right Primary Candidates in Swing State Arizona

WASHINGTON, July 21 (Reuters) – Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday in Arizona to choose Republican and Democratic nominees for the U.S. Congress and governor, with races that will set the tone for November’s midterm elections in a state known for its competitive elections and politically independent streak.   Registered Republicans outnumber registered Democrats in Arizona, but ‌the large number of independents makes for ‌a state that is considered closely divided.  Both parties have had combative primary competitions in one of the most closely watched races in the country: Arizona’s 1st congressional district. With Republican Representative David Schweikert leaving the House of Representatives at year’s end as he attempts to become Arizona’s next governor, Democrats have targeted this open Phoenix metropolitan district seat as a top priority in their quest to win  majority control of the House from Republicans. Republicans currently hold 218 House seats to Democrats’ 212 seats, not counting one independent who caucuses with Republicans and four vacancies. Democrats need a net gain of four seats to win majority control of the …

“I’d be up there with Lenin”: Trump tells far-right outlet he’d be the communist GOAT

Donald Trump is no believer in the immortal science of Marxism-Leninism, but he still thinks he’d make a great Red. A reporter for the Epoch Times, a pro-Trump and anti-Chinese Communist Party news outlet, asked Trump to speak on the dangers of global communism on Wednesday.  She warned that the idea of a classless and stateless society was secretly spreading in democratic countries in Europe as well as stateside and asked for Trump’s message to people “who might not realize how close communism has come to home.” Trump turned the question into so much youth baseball bragging, saying he’d be “the greatest communist” of all time. “Communism is easy to sell,” he said. “I would be the greatest communist in history. I’d be right up there with Lenin. I’d be as good as anybody.” Trump said that communism has proven to be a “disaster” over “thousands of years under different names.” He went on to attribute his brief bump with Hispanic voters in the 2024 election on his anti-communist stance. “I set a record for …

Far-right leader Marine Le Pen says she will run for presidency in France after court lifts ban

Far-right leader Marine Le Pen said Tuesday that she will run in France’s presidential election next year, hours after a Paris appeals court upheld her conviction for misusing European Union funds. Subscribe to read this story ad-free Get unlimited access to ad-free articles and exclusive content. The court shortened her ban on running for elected office. However it ruled she must wear an electronic ankle tag for a year — which Le Pen had said would rule her out of a presidential run because it would make campaigning difficult and undermine her credibility. But in a prime-time interview on France’s TF1 TV, she announced that she was a “candidate in the presidential election” and the French people would have the last word. Le Pen, 57, added that she would appeal the ruling to France’s highest court, the Cour ‌de Cassation. Until that court delivered its own ruling, she said she would not need to wear an electronic tag during the campaign. This came despite the appeal court ruling that she would wear one for a …

Thousands protest in Germany as far-right AfD sets sights on power

The opening speeches mocked and lambasted the protesters as anti-democratic. They revelled in the AfD‘s rise that could see the party taking power in regional elections this year for the first time, while painting their mainstream rivals as tired, out of touch and leading Germany into decline. “For this remains our last chance to save our country,” Weidel said. “More and more people in this country want to support us in the fight against Germany’s decline, in the fight for our fatherland and for our identity.” Underscoring the party’s hard line on immigration, a song called “Send them back” played on the AfD‘s social media stream minutes before the convention opened. Inside the convention centre, vintage-style cards were on sale with slogans such as “YOU will be deported”. Bjoern Hoecke, seen as one of the party’s most radical and controversial leaders, offered a mix of nostalgia and invective, even pointing to the state of Germany’s motorway toilets as an example of national malaise. “A great Germany is a Germany where one need not fear taking …

France’s National Rally targeted as part of Europe-wide raids over alleged far-right embezzlement

Searches are currently under way “in France and other European countries” following suspicions of the misappropriation of European funds by the now-defunct Identity and Democracy (ID) group of MEPs, of which France’s far-right National Rally (RN) was a member, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) said on Tuesday, confirming a report in French daily Le Monde. Belfast unrest shows the power of social media as far‑right views on immigration enter the mainstream

Footage of a horrific knife attack in Belfast began to circulate on social media on Monday evening. A Sudanese asylum-seeker in his 30s, who entered the UK in 2023, has been charged with attempted murder. Meanwhile, the far-right was quick to exploit the situation to further an anti-immigration agenda. Violent unrest followed on the streets of Belfast and beyond on Tuesday evening. Houses, cars and a bus were set alight, and masked men were seen smashing in windows. Some of the attacks on property were reportedly racist in nature. Posting earlier on social media, activist Tommy Robinson (real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) urged supporters to join street protests against this “invader attack”. Robinson provided a list of locations across Great Britain and Northern Ireland where protests were planned on Tuesday night. His post on X was shared by tech billionaire Elon Musk, who called for citizens to protest “repeatedly and loudly” to change government policies around immigration. BERLIN, June 4 (Reuters) – A senior member of Germany’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) met one of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s top advisers as well as the head of energy group Gazprom and called for a reopening of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. Markus Frohnmaier, the AfD’s parliamentary foreign policy spokesperson, is attending Putin’s showpiece economic conference in St Petersburg, ‌defying warnings from Germany’s foreign ministry, ‌which said it “explicitly advised the AfD against these trips”.
