Futures Flat, Erase Overnight Losses As Nervous Traders Brace For Key Week

Futures Flat, Erase Overnight Losses As Nervous Traders Brace For Key Week

S&P futures are unchanged, erasing all overnight losses, extending last week’s choppy price action focused on AI repercussions; Nasdaq 100 futures underperform slightly ahead of an important week that has both the January jobs and CPI report on deck (at least the firehose of earnings is slowing down). As of 8:15am ET, S&P futures are unchanged, and Nasdaq futures dip 0.2% with tech the biggest laggard as Semis come back under pressure and Mag7 names are all weaker.  The yield on 10-year Treasuries rose three basis points to 4.24% after BBG reported that China tells state and local banks to limit/reduce Treasury exposure (does not affect Federal holdings) which according to JPM may raise risk of a “Sell America” trade esp with Japan / APAC poised to rip in the near-term. The dollar dipped 0.3%, supporting gold and silver. Bitcoin slipped below $69,000. Commodities are big with precious metals and gasoline the upside standouts. Today’s macro data focus is on the NY Fed’s inflation expectations release. In premarket trading, Mag 7 stocks are mixed (Microsoft +0.6%, Amazon …

Goodbye, breast implants: why I went back to having a flat chest | Well actually

Goodbye, breast implants: why I went back to having a flat chest | Well actually

For 22 years, I ran around with small bags of saline water on my chest – a fact I shared with only a handful of close friends. I felt ashamed of having chosen artificial enhancement. I’m an outdoorsy mountain runner. At 56, I want to model aging naturally, but having breast implants ran counter to that. Now they are gone, thanks to explant surgery – implant removal without replacement. I decided to speak openly about going flat-chested so more women who face implant removal or mastectomy might consider staying flat. Like other women I spoke with who later had their breast implants removed, I originally got mine to fit a nearly impossible beauty standard: a thin body with round, fuller breasts. My little A-cups had risen to the occasion to nurse my two babies from 1998 through 2002. They literally vanished after weaning, as if my body absorbed every cell of breast tissue. I became flatter than my husband. My fit physique developed a masculine chest that made me view my body as tough and …

This 30-second tweak means I never have to listen to flat audio on headphones and speakers again

This 30-second tweak means I never have to listen to flat audio on headphones and speakers again

These speakers sound as good as they look. Jack Wallen/ZDNET Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. ZDNET’s key takeaways Equalizers let you fine-tune specific frequencies to balance sound. They help fix issues with your speakers or room acoustics. You can easily boost clear tones while cutting out noise. I remember it like it was yesterday: sitting in my car, cranking up Van Halen’s 5150, and spending the entire album fiddling with the 10-band EQ I’d installed to get the best sound possible. You don’t see a lot of physical equalizers these days, which is sad because they were always so cool to have. Instead, most everything is software-driven now. And that’s fine. It may not be “audiophile-level fine,” but at least it’s something. Also: This Bluetooth speaker I tested delivers room-filling sound without breaking the bank For those who didn’t spend their youth trying to tweak every knob and button on a stereo rack to get the best sound possible from their speakers, you might be wondering, “What is this EQ of which …

Apple iPhone just had its best year in India as the smartphone market stays broadly flat

Apple iPhone just had its best year in India as the smartphone market stays broadly flat

Apple’s iPhone is gaining ground fast in India, shipping about 14 million units in 2025, based on market data shared exclusively with TechCrunch. Yet the country’s overall smartphone market stayed largely flat at around 152–153 million devices. That means that across the full-year of 2025, Apple’s market share of shipments rose to a record 9%. This is up from 7% in 2024, Counterpoint Research data shows, making it the iPhone’s strongest year yet in the world’s second-largest smartphone market by volume. The gains were driven by the iPhone’s product portfolio, growing aspirational demand and wider availability across sales channels, Counterpoint Research’s director for devices and ecosystems, Tarun Pathak, said. Apple has repeatedly pointed to India as a standout market in recent quarters, with CEO Tim Cook saying the company set an “all-time revenue record in India” on its last earnings call in October. CFO Kevan Parekh also said iPhone’s active install base hit an all-time high in India and the company set a quarterly record for upgraders, highlighting Apple’s push to expand its user base …
