Over seven decades into a legendary career in comedy, Mel Brooks is still going strong! His career began as a comic and writer in the early 1950s, first earning notices for his work with Sid Caesar on his variety show Your Show of Shows, before branching out into making comedy albums of his own, producing and starring films, and then taking his on-screen work to the stage. “We would be frankly unstoppable”: Trump dances around Greenland threats at Davos

Donald Trump continued to push for the U.S. acquisition of Greenland at the World Economic Forum on Wednesday. The president’s speech at the annual gathering in Davos was full of semi-veiled threats to Denmark and Europe. The president repeatedly referred to Greenland, which is a semi-autonomous territory of Kingdom of Denmark as a “piece of ice.” Trump said the U.S. would be “frankly unstoppable” if they decided to take Greenland by force, but hoped it wouldn’t come to that. “I don’t have to use force. I don’t want to use force. I won’t use force. All the United States is asking for is a place called Greenland,” he said. “That’s probably the biggest statement I’ve made.” A seemingly confused  Trump once referred to the area as Iceland during the hour-long speech . “Our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland,” he said. “So Iceland has already cost us a lot of money.” On  Tuesday,  Trump’s European tariff threats triggered  biggest daily stock market drop in months over Greenland opposition. ‘I’d Frankly Like Trump to Kill Khamenei’

When Shahrzad went to demonstrate in the streets of Tehran on January 2, she was buoyed by one fact: The day before, President Trump had promised that if Iran killed protesters, “the United States of America will come to their rescue.” “We were all so hopeful,” the 29-year-old woman, who left Iran a few days ago for a nearby country, told me. Like many of those I spoke with for this article, she used a pseudonym for fear of reprisals against her family. “But when Khamenei started threatening us the day after, we were shit-scared. What if they came to a deal with Trump over our heads?” In the two weeks since, the Iranian regime has committed its biggest atrocity since the 1980s, killing at least 3,919 protesters, according to the U.S.-based Human Rights Activist News Agency. Trump has yet to act on his promises, though he has repeated them several times. Many hope he might still intervene. But Trump has also disheartened Iranians by downplaying the regime’s violence. On Friday, he puzzlingly thanked Iran’s …
