The Batman: Part II is looking to add another star to its stacked cast. Charles Dance is in talks to play Harvey Dent’s father in the upcoming sequel to 2022’s Batman, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. DC Studios had no comment. Robert Pattinson is back to lead the film as the Dark Knight with Sebastian Stan as Harvey Dent, and Scarlett Johansson as Dent’s wife. Matt Reeves returns to direct the movie, which is aiming to begin production next month, and co-wrote the script with Mattson Tomlin. Dance played Tywin Lannister in four seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones. He also has credits in Alien 3, The Imitation Game, Gosford Park, The First Omen, The Day of the Jackal and played Dr. Frankenstein’s father in last year’s Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-nominated, Frankenstein. The Batman grossed $772 million at the worldwide box office and starred Colin Farrell as the villain, the Penguin, who got his own spinoff series on Max and is returning for the sequel. Rosanna Arquette is pushing back against comments that Harvey Weinstein made in a recent jailhouse interview with The Hollywood Reporter. In a hard-hitting interview conducted last January at Rikers Island, THR editor-in-chief Maer Roshan pressed the 73-year-old disgraced mogul on claims that he had professionally blackballed women who resisted his advances. “You fancy yourself such a tough guy,” Roshan noted. “If any of these women had refused you, wouldn’t you have sought to punish them?” The twice-convicted rapist, who faces a retrial on a remaining assault charge next month in New York, firmly denied the charges. “I may be a tough guy, but I’m not deranged. San Francisco startup Anthropic continues to ship new AI products and services at a blistering pace, despite a messy ongoing dispute with the U.S. Department of War. Today, the company announced Claude Marketplace, a new offering that lets enterprises with an existing Anthropic spend commitment apply part of it toward tools and applications powered by Anthropic’s Claude models but made and offered by external partners including GitLab, Harvey, Lovable, Replit, Rogo and Snowflake. According to Anthropic’s Claude Marketplace FAQ, the program is designed to simplify procurement and consolidate AI spend. Anthropic says the Marketplace is now in limited preview and that enterprises interested in using it should reach out to their Anthropic account team to get started. For customers interested in the Marketplace, Anthropic says purchases made through it “count against a portion of your existing Anthropic commitment,” and that the company will manage invoicing for partner spend — meaning enterprises can use part of their existing Anthropic commitment to buy Claude-powered partner solutions without separately handling partner invoicing. Harvey Weinstein has swapped in a new attorney as an upcoming retrial in his New York rape cases looms. The imprisoned former Hollywood mogul has jettisoned his powerhouse team for the next moment in court as his longtime attorneys carry out an appeal on his other verdict. Harvey, the high-flying legal AI startup, has acquired Hexus — a two-year-old startup that builds tools for creating product demos, videos, and guides — as the company continues its aggressive expansion amid fierce competition in the legal tech market. Hexus founder and CEO Sakshi Pratap, who previously held engineering roles at Walmart, Oracle, and Google, tells TechCrunch that her San Francisco-based team has already joined Harvey, while the startup’s India-based engineers will come onboard once Harvey establishes a Bangalore office.
