HBO‘s newest original documentary ought to get your attention by its title alone. On Tuesday, HBO revealed the release date and trailer for Bang My Box: The Robin Byrd Story. Bang My Box, produced by Sarah Jessica Parker and chronicling the life of iconic New York City public access call-in show host Robin Byrd, will debut on HBO and HBO Max on Tuesday, June 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The 80-minute film is directed and produced by Jyllian Gunther and Stephanie Schwam. Penelope Douglas’ adult romance novel has been optioned by Canada’s Crave streaming service for a TV series after the breakout success of its Heated Rivalry gay romancer adaptation. Released in 2024, Five Brothers follows one woman who learns the secrets of the five Jaeger brothers: Macon, Army, Iron, Dallas, and Trace. “Five Brothers was such an immersive writing experience for me with a cast of characters I connected to immediately. I can’t wait to see these men brought to life,” Douglas said in a statement. David Zaslav really loves HBO Max. (You can go ahead and just forget about that whole “Max” era.) On Wednesday, Zaslav called HBO Max “probably” Warner Bros. Discovery‘s “most important asset.” It is streaming’s unique ability to house entire TV and film libraries that, in his mind, places it above linear assets like HBO, CNN and the Turner Channels. The same goes for WBD’s theatrical distribution business, which also ultimately serves as a feeder system for HBO Max. So I guess that’s what David Ellison is (mostly) paying $111 billion for. One could very reasonably argue that Warner Bros. studios are actually a bit more valuable — the company’s motion picture business is certainly its most iconic asset. The world is falling apart in the first look at The Big Bang Theory spinoff series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. Castmembers Kevin Sussman, Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn and John Ross Bowie took the stage at CCXP Mexico City to share tease their comedy that is set to begin streaming on HBO Max in July. Along with debuting images that can be seen above and below, the panel revealed that musician Danny Elfman will create an original theme song for the series.
