President Donald Trump announced Saturday that he nominated Lance Schroyer, a former Oklahoma state trooper, to take over as director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Shopkeeper Hamza Ayaz spotted the stricken animal and grabbed the large umbrella from his nearby ice cream freezer, later handing it to neighbour Nezir Gulec who positioned it beneath the falling cat just in time to cushion its landing. June 25 : Canada captain Marie-Philip Poulin, widely considered the best women’s ice hockey player in the world, will undergo surgery on her torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn meniscus, her PWHL club Montreal Victoire announced on Thursday. Poulin first injured her knee at the Milano Cortina Olympics, where Canada lost to the U.S. in overtime of the gold-medal game, and aggravated it in March before returning to lead Montreal to their first PWHL title while being named most valuable player of the playoffs. • Poulin’s surgery is scheduled for late July, and the Victoire will provide updates as appropriate • “If I want to continue playing at a high level, surgery is necessary,” Poulin said in press release • She missed Canada’s final two preliminary round games at Olympics with injury but returned for quarter-finals • Owns the women’s all-time Olympic scoring record with 20 career goals • Poulin scored the gold-medal game-winning goals in three Olympic finals for Canada (2010, 2014, 2022) Source link

For those without air conditioning – which, in summer 2026, is still most of the population – it’s become a relief to step into a mechanically cooled office or supermarket. But why, in an age of rising temperatures and ferocious heatwaves, do so many of us still lack air con at home? Why are schools closing due to inadequate cooling, and hospitals often struggling on without it? Estimates for the proportion of UK homes with air con vary from three per cent to 19 per cent – the higher figure coming from 2022 research by the University of East London (UEL). Either way, it’s still not the norm, despite the scorching trajectory we’re on. Pattering brightly and ceaselessly, he puzzled over his smart toilet (“I think it’s made for a woman to have fun and enjoy yourself on it, because it’s got buttons that I’m just thinking, This is curious”) and revealed his favorite Ninja Turtle (Raphael).
