Jasmine and Lorenzo could’ve had “quite the love story” say dumped Love Islanders

Love Island 2026 has been serving up quite the brutal dumping, as the Islanders were tasked with sending home two Islanders. After the public were able to vote for their favourite girl and favourite boy, Ellie and Lorenzo were then told it was down to them to dump one boy and one girl who found themselves in the bottom three. Unfortunately for Tina Rad and Tommy Murphy, their time in the villa came to a close. What was their bombshell strategy? Are Jasmine and Lorenzo end game? Islanders Fire Coach Patrick Roy After Losing 4 in a Row, Name Peter DeBoer His Replacement

NEW YORK (AP) — Patrick Roy was fired as coach of the New York Islanders on Sunday, another late-season change in the NHL that comes with the team in the middle of a spring tailspin that has put its playoff chances in jeopardy. Getting outshot 40-16 and losing 4-3 at division-leading Carolina on Saturday night in another must-win game was the final straw for Darche, who took over last summer and decided at the time to keep Roy behind the bench. This is not an interim move. DeBoer is taking the job full time. The 57-year-old is fresh off serving as an assistant on coach Jon Cooper’s Canada’s staff at the Milan Cortina Olympics, serving as an advanced scout and helping a talented group reach the final before losing to the U.S. in overtime. “More of preparation was just when everybody arrived here and you’ve got basically three days to prepare, that a lot of the grunt work is done,” DeBoer said in Milan. “I was involved in the scouting selection process. That was totally …

The Pacific Islanders fighting to save their homes from climate catastrophe

The Pacific Islanders fighting to save their homes from climate catastrophe

On Sikaiana Atoll, a tiny islet in the Solomon Islands home to 300 people, rising sea levels are anything but a distant projection. High tides regularly wash into areas that used to stay dry year round, and the freshwater reservoir beneath the atoll is increasingly contaminated by sea water pushing up from below, compromising not only the soil in which villagers grow traditional root crops like taro, but also the wells they rely on for drinking water. It’s a similar story across the Pacific, where small island nations like Tonga, Fiji and Samoa are suffering some of the worst impacts of climate change. Rising seas and intensifying storms are already having a devastating effect on people’s livelihoods, health and well-being. In some cases, the threat is truly existential. Tuvalu, comprising nine low-lying islands halfway between Hawaii and Australia, could be almost completely submerged at high tide by the end of the century, according to some estimates. Many Pacific Islanders are being forced to leave. But across the region, others are attempting to secure their future …
