Luxury Items Coop Steals, Explained

Luxury Items Coop Steals, Explained

Jonathan Tropper has a 6-year-old daughter; as of exactly today, I do as well — Happy birthday, Emily! So despite Tropper’s status as the creator of Apple TV’s Your Friends & Neighbors and Cinemax’s Banshee and Warrior, when he says he has nothing of value in his house because he can’t have anything of value in his house, I tend to believe him. (Imagine if we had boys.) But Tropper’s boys are the fully grown Jon Hamm, Hoon Lee, the aptly-named Mark Tallman and James Marsden, the fellas of Your Friends & Neighbors season two. Save the 45-year-old Tallman, the guys are all in their 50s, but their characters are still plenty destructive — especially self-destructive. Together, Andrew “Coop” Cooper, Barney Choi, Nick Brandes and Owen Ashe, respectively, form a motley crew of dudes who all kinda-sorta have their hands in each others’ pockets, both above board and below. Coop has his gloved hands in more than his friends’ pockets. The basic premise of Your Friends & Neighbors is this: Coop, who (quite literally) fucked …

James Marsden & Vince Vaughn Star

James Marsden & Vince Vaughn Star

If you’ve ever seen a mob flick before, you’d be forgiven for assuming at first glance that you’ve seen a million movies just like Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice, the second feature from writer-director BenDavid Grabinski (Happily). All the usual tropes would seem to be present and accounted for. There’s the gangster with the heart of gold (James Marsden’s Mike) who wants out of this ugly life. There’s the tragic love triangle between said gangster, his beautiful girlfriend (Eiza González’s Alice) and her husband (Vince Vaughn’s Nick), also a gangster and a far more vengeful one at that. There are corrupt cops, and reports of a mole, and an extra-special mystery assassin with an extra-nasty gimmick, who only gets flown in for the gnarliest jobs. Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice The Bottom Line Violently entertaining. Venue: SXSW Film Festival (Headliner)Release date: Friday, March 27 (Hulu)Cast: Vince Vaughn, James Marsden, Eiza González, Keith David, Jimmy TatroDirector-screenwriter: BenDavid Grabinski Rated R, 1 hour 47 minutes But then…there’s also the time machine. Amy Rose Hammer Teased as Movie Sequel Starts Production

Amy Rose Hammer Teased as Movie Sequel Starts Production

The latest sequel in Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise is getting a running start. Director Jeff Fowler took to social media on Monday to announce that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has begun production. The post includes an image of the filmmaker appearing to wield the hammer that is associated with the franchise’s pink hedgehog Amy Rose, which follows The Hollywood Reporter exclusively revealing last month that Kristen Bell is set to voice the role. “Ready 4 Action,” Fowler, who helmed the first three movies, captioned his post. “#SonicMovie4 now filming.” Related Stories Adapting the popular Sega video game property, the Paramount Pictures feature is set to hit theaters March 19, 2027. Additionally, an untitled film in the franchise will debut theatrically in late 2028. The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise features Ben Schwartz as the voice of the speedy titular critter, while Idris Elba joined in 2022’s first follow-up as the voice of Knuckles. Jim Carrey, James Marsden and Tika Sumpter round out the film’s live-action cast. Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher and Toru Nakahara return …

Anthony Is Unbeknownst Star of Season 2

Anthony Is Unbeknownst Star of Season 2

Jury Duty is returning for its highly anticipated second installment, and Prime Video is giving viewers a first look at its latest unbeknownst star, Anthony. Entitled Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, Prime Video released the first trailer for the docu-comedy on Thursday, introducing the audience to Anthony, the man who has no idea that he’s surrounded by a bunch of actors. Instead, Anthony believes he’s been hired as a temporary worker attending an annual company retreat for hot sauce company Rockin’ Grandma’s. The trailer sees Anthony introduced to the new, outlandish group of employees. At part of the center of the season’s drama is the potential sale of Rockin’ Grandma’s, which was originally slated to be taken over by the company head’s son. “If they think they can just come in and do whatever they feel like they wanna do, they’re in for a rude awakening,” Anthony says at one point in the trailer when the potential buyers of the hot sauce company are introduced. “I care about y’all. This is a family.” Season two …

Every X-Men Movie, Definitively Ranked

Every X-Men Movie, Definitively Ranked

Before the MCU ended an era of cinema as we know it, another extended family of Marvel superheroes dominated the multiplex: Fox’s X-Men franchise. Launched in 2000 with one of the pre-MCU era’s few actually good superhero movies, X-Men spawned 11 sequels, spin-offs, prequels and other such universe-extenders over the subsequent two decades. (Plus Deadpool & Wolverine, which we’ve listed below, even if it technically exists within the Marvel Cinematic Universe—it’s basically an X-Men film, and primarily functions as a love letter to 21st Century Fox’s legacy of comic-book movies.) Based on the comics created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the X-Men movies kicked off with Bryan Singer’s trilogy of films, centered on the OG occupants of the X-Mansion: Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, James Marsden’s Cyclops, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Ian McKellen’s Magneto, etc. Prequels set in the ‘60s and ’70s followed, bringing the likes of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence into the ensemble; meanwhile, Jackman—the unequivocal fan favorite of the X-Men universe—spun off into a string of Wolverine movies. A trilogy of …

X-Men Return in Latest Avengers: Doomsday Teaser

X-Men Return in Latest Avengers: Doomsday Teaser

James Marsden makes a fiery return as the comic book character Cyclops in the latest preview for Avengers: Doomsday ahead of the movie’s December theatrical release. As the X-Men return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the teaser, which dropped on Tuesday, mostly features Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto in a somber dialogue about death. “The question is: who would you be when you close your eyes?” Professor X questions at one point in the teaser. That’s quickly followed by the character Scott Summers, also known as goggle X-Man Cyclops, suiting up for the upcoming film from directors Joe and Anthony Russo after earlier trailers revealed returns for God of Thunder Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Chris Evans as Steve Rogers. The superheroes — everyone from the original X-Men to the Fantastic Four — will face off against Doctor Doom, played by Marvel patriarch Robert Downey Jr. in one of two Avengers films to roll out later this year. Marsden appeared as the Marvel character in X-Men (2000), X2: X-Men United (2003) and X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), though his …
