Taking the stage Thursday at the Las Vegas movie convention, the professional prankster and stuntman, 55, introduced himself to the crowd. “My name is Johnny Knoxville, and I’m going to try to not get emotional,” he said, according to Variety. “This is the last Jackass film the world will ever see. Jackass means a hell of a lot for me,” Knoxville added. “We knew we were making the last one, so we went extra hard to make sure this was also our best Jackass film ever.” The trailer reportedly featured plenty of archival footage, mixed in with brand-new stunts, including Knoxville receiving a prostate exam by a robot named Larry and Sean “Poopies” McInerney …

Johnny Depp Makes Rare Public Appearance in L.A. to Launch Rum Brand

Johnny Depp Makes Rare Public Appearance in L.A. to Launch Rum Brand

Johnny Depp red carpet outings are few and far between, especially in Los Angeles, but the veteran star turned up at the Wilshire Ebell Theater on Tuesday night for a packed launch party to promote his new rum brand. And plenty of rock stars rolled through to show support and swallow some Three Hearts Rum. Aerosmith legend Steven Tyler (who sang along to “Walk This Way”), Beck, The Kills’ Jamie Hince, Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Arctic Monkey’s Matt Helders, Jerry Cantrell and others were among the rockers while guests included Jerry Bruckheimer, Bill Burr, Rauw Alejandro, Rain Phoenix and more. But instead of drafting one of his pals to hit the stage, the night featured a performance from Matteo Bocelli, son of acclaimed singer Andrea Bocelli. Depp also made the most of his rare L.A. night out. He was seen greeting fans and taking in the lively atmosphere alongside his co-founder Bobby DeLeon. The two even teamed up as Depp branded two cases of wood to match the symbols on their new …

Brian Cox rails against fellow stars Johnny Depp, Quentin Tarantino and ‘insidious patriarchy’

Get the latest entertainment news, reviews and star-studded interviews with our Independent Culture email Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter Get the latest entertainment news with our free Culture newsletter In true Brian Cox fashion, the Scottish actor unleashed a no-holds-barred takedown of several peers and the dangers of the patriarchy in a new interview. The 79-year-old Succession star is not one to mince his words— and he certainly did not hold back when speaking to The Times of London to promote his directorial debut, Glenrothan. Reflecting on his prolific acting career, Cox revealed he turned down the role of the governor in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (a part ultimately played by Jonathan Pryce). He expressed relief in his decision, saying that he was happy he avoided working with Johnny Depp, whom he argued is “so overblown, so overrated.” He then offered a brief but critical assessment of several former collaborators, including 25th Hour co-star Edward Norton, whom he labeled “a pain in the arse”; Iron Will co-star Kevin …

Sturgill Simpson Dropped the Johnny Blueskies Album Early on YouTube, and YouTube Commenters Are Stoked

Sturgill Simpson Dropped the Johnny Blueskies Album Early on YouTube, and YouTube Commenters Are Stoked

Mutiny After Midnight—the new full-length from Sturgill Simpson’s alter ego Johnny Blueskies, an instant contender for Album of the Year as well as Somehow Audibly Greasiest Album of the Year—dropped ahead of schedule over the weekend, when Simpson (who’d promised this one would be a streaming-service-spurning physical-only release) threw the whole thing up on YouTube. We are still processing the album itself and its beer-bong cocktail of life-in-the-fast-lane disco, fevered curly-guitar-cord boogie, true-testimonial soul, and possible-final-season-of-American-democracy anxiety. Two things we can say for sure right away, though, are that 1) these songs will absolutely smoke live, and 2) as excited as we are about this album, no one is anywhere near as amped about it as the commenters on YouTube who digested it over the weekend in real time (and in many cases, from the sound of it, may have needed to call out of work on Monday to recuperate.) The saying goes that everybody’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day; on New Sturgill Simpson AKA Johnny Blueskies Day, if these commenters are to be believed, …

Celebrities with the weirdest home collections — including Johnny Depp’s pigeon skeletons

Celebrities with the weirdest home collections — including Johnny Depp’s pigeon skeletons

We all have our own niche obsessions, like Victorian kitsch or vintage plates (guilty), but how extreme and downright strange could these obsessions become if you had millions to spend on them?  We’re taking a look behind the shutters and inside the locked cupboards of celebrity homes to bring you the curious collections these famous faces have built. Johnny Depp has a collection of bugs and animal skeletons Johnny Depp – Bugs and Skeletons For Johnny Depp, a pigeon skeleton was just the start. His collection of animal bones expanded to bats and bugs – he even has a favourite bug shop in Paris. But it’s not just macabre memorabilia the actor spends his cash on as within his strange collectables, Johnny used to count a painting by serial killer and party entertainer John Gacy of his alter-ego Pogo the Clown, as well. He also has an old raincoat belonging to Jack Kerouac and a collection of Arts and Crafts lamps. The Pirates of the Caribbean star also even reportedly spent $7000 on a sofa …

Johnny Flynn & John C. Reilly Western

Johnny Flynn & John C. Reilly Western

You wait eons for a great tragic film set on the American frontier in the 19th century from a little-known director that features an outstanding male lead performance, a scene-stealing turn from a veteran character actor, and a forest fire — and wouldn’t you know it, two come along at once. Well, not quite at once, but just a little over a year apart. Close enough to make you wonder if there’s something in the air, a conspiracy afoot, or just great minds thinking alike and taking inspiration from fine literary works. Director Clint Bentley’s Train Dreams, adapted from Denis Johnson’s novel of the same name, premiered at Sundance in 2025, but didn’t really build up a critical wind behind it until last fall, as awards season heated up, which is why it feels so recent. This year, A Prayer for the Dying, similar to Train Dreams in all the ways listed above and just as good a film, debuts at Berlin in the newish Perspectives showcase, where it’s created a substantial buzz. A Prayer …

Amber Heard makes rare comments about Johnny Depp trial in new documentary

Amber Heard has made rare comments about the high-profile Johnny Depp trial in the new documentary Silenced which was screened at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival on Sunday.  The mother of three explained her motives for the appearance were not about her. “This is not about me. I have lost my ability to speak. I am not here to tell my story. I don’t want to tell my story. In fact, I don’t want to use my voice anymore. That’s the problem,” Amber can be heard saying in the documentary.  © Deadline via Getty ImagesAmber makes appearance in docu Silenced Amber explained that the case was very much a ‘catch 22’ situation. “The outcome of that trial depended on my participation, and I depended on the outcome of that trial. When I first met [Robinson], I immediately got the sense that she got the bigger picture. What has happened to me is an amplified version of what a lot of women live through,” she added.  Amber recalled being the subject of public scorn. “I remember …

Inside the bitter fallout between Joan Rivers and Johnny Carson

Inside the bitter fallout between Joan Rivers and Johnny Carson

Joan Rivers and Johnny Carson’s feud is now the stuff of legend, having sparked four decades ago. Their fraught relationship has recently been re-examined by Mark Malkoff, who authored Love Johnny Carson, with the writer sharing the real reason behind their rift. Joan first appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1965 as a last-minute guest, and charmed both Johnny and his audience with her sharp wit. She went on to appear on the show more than 100 times, both as a guest, and a guest host when Johnny was away. © Gene Arias/NBC via Getty ImagesJoan often appeared on Johnny’s show throughout the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s The pair built a strong professional relationship, and Joan considered him to be her mentor. Their friendship soured, however, in 1986, when Joan was offered her own late-night talk show in direct competition with Johnny. Her final appearance on The Tonight Show came in April of that year, when she celebrated the 21st anniversary of her debut on the show. Just days later, she announced …
