Famous Guys Also Love Light-Jacket Season

Famous Guys Also Love Light-Jacket Season

Like cherry blossom season, the window for lightweight outerwear is fleeting. If you’re lucky, you might get two weeks of the sublime 50-to-70 degree spring weather that’s just right for stepping out in all those breezy, beautiful jackets currently lining your closet—from leather bikers and nylon bombers to flowy trenches, linen blazers, and beyond. That brief window is now open. And plenty of the best-dressed guys in Hollywood are already seizing the interseasonal moment. Earlier this week, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Dune: Part Three’s Timothée Chalamet—no stranger to advanced-level outerwear—pulled up to the Warner Bros. presentation in an earthy suede bomber jacket paired with a black hoodie and a pair of service boots from the Japanese label Visvim. Chalamet’s co-star Jason Momoa, meanwhile, stayed true to his biker roots in a polished leather trucker jacket. (Both of them were ultimately outshone by Zendaya, who was clad in a sculptural Schiaparelli skirt suit.) Adam Scott, who was also at the star-studded convention to promote Boots Riley’s I Love Boosters, struck a preppier note in a …

Jon Hamm Compares Don Draper to Coop With ‘Friends & Neighbors’ S2 Return

Jon Hamm Compares Don Draper to Coop With ‘Friends & Neighbors’ S2 Return

Between Mad Men and Your Friends and Neighbors, no one can down (fake) whiskey like Jon Hamm. (The “scotch” in Your Friends & Neighbors is actually iced tea or water with caramel food coloring, depending on the actor drinking it.) Though his Apple TV character Andrew Cooper prefers to drink aged scotch, Hamm — and Coop, for that matter — wouldn’t want to go all the way back to the stuff they drank midday at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. The 1960s may have been groovy (though, again, not really at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce), but the liquor was shit. “Don Draper drank Canadian Club, which is sort of a bargain-basement blended rye,” Hamm’s told The Hollywood Reporter during our conversation that was ostensibly about Your Friends & Neighbors season two. “Coop drinks Macallan 25, which is like $5,000 a bottle. I’ve had both of them — Macallan is much better.” Same, except I’m pretty sure I’m personally topped out at Macallan 18. Feel free to send a 25-year-old (bottle), Apple — you’ve got the money. …

Jon Hamm’s 0,000 Watch Is Inspired by a Bugatti

Jon Hamm’s $360,000 Watch Is Inspired by a Bugatti

If you’re gonna make luxury watches an integral part of your TV show—as they are in Your Friends & Neighbors—then you can’t exactly let your leading man hit the red carpet in some bargain-bin timepiece. Thankfully, Jacob & Co. came in clutch, hooking up Jon Hamm with a Jean Bugatti to wear to the Season 2 premiere in New York City. In the first season, Hamm’s character Coop stole both a Nautilus and a Richard Mille in the show from—say it with me!—his friends and neighbors. Now, the actor turned up with a watch worthy of one of his small-time heists. The Bugatti Jean fits right in with Coop’s lavish lifestyle: Housed in a 46mm 18K white gold case and fitted with both a chronograph and two tourbillons, it retails for an eye-watering $360,000. Luxury Items Coop Steals, Explained

Luxury Items Coop Steals, Explained

Jonathan Tropper has a 6-year-old daughter; as of exactly today, I do as well — Happy birthday, Emily! So despite Tropper’s status as the creator of Apple TV’s Your Friends & Neighbors and Cinemax’s Banshee and Warrior, when he says he has nothing of value in his house because he can’t have anything of value in his house, I tend to believe him. (Imagine if we had boys.) But Tropper’s boys are the fully grown Jon Hamm, Hoon Lee, the aptly-named Mark Tallman and James Marsden, the fellas of Your Friends & Neighbors season two. Save the 45-year-old Tallman, the guys are all in their 50s, but their characters are still plenty destructive — especially self-destructive. Together, Andrew “Coop” Cooper, Barney Choi, Nick Brandes and Owen Ashe, respectively, form a motley crew of dudes who all kinda-sorta have their hands in each others’ pockets, both above board and below. Coop has his gloved hands in more than his friends’ pockets. The basic premise of Your Friends & Neighbors is this: Coop, who (quite literally) fucked …

Mad Men star Jon Hamm’s unexpected take on aging: ‘I’ve earned it’

Mad Men star Jon Hamm’s unexpected take on aging: ‘I’ve earned it’

Jon Hamm has never been one to shy away from reinvention. More than a decade after Mad Men cemented his place as one of television’s most magnetic leading men, the 55-year-old actor is enjoying life that feels not only expansive, but deeply fulfilling, and, perhaps surprisingly, he credits that sense of contentment to getting older. After Mad Men wrapped in 2015, Jon seamlessly transitioned into a string of standout roles, from Fargo’s chilling sheriff to the charismatic tech billionaire opposite Jennifer Aniston in  The Morning Show, and even a brilliantly self-aware turn as “Jon Hamm” in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Now, he’s back on our screens in Your Friends & Neighbors, with season two premiering April 3 on Apple TV, where he plays disgraced hedge fund manager Andrew “Coop” Cooper, a man quietly unravelling behind the glossy façade of suburban wealth. © Getty ImagesAt 55 Jon is loving life Yet while his on-screen characters often wrestle with dissatisfaction beneath success, Jon himself seems to have reached a far more peaceful place. “If you’ve made it this far, …

Jon Hamm, 54, steps out with wife Anna, 37, for stunning red carpet appearance at the NFL honors

All eyes were on Jon Hamm and his younger wife Anna Osceola as the couple made a rare and ultra-polished red carpet appearance together at the 15th NFL honors, turning heads with their effortless glamour. The Mad Men star looked every inch the Hollywood leading man in a sleek, midnight-blue suit layered over a matching shirt. Keeping things cool and contemporary, Jon accessorised with dark sunglasses and classic black shoes, his arm wrapped protectively around Anna’s waist as the pair posed for the cameres. Anna, meanwhile, was a vision in a crisp white halterneck jumpsuit that perfectly balanced modern minimalism with red carpet drama.  © Variety via Getty ImagesJon Hamm and Anna Osceola at the 15th Annual NFL Honors The tailored design featured a plunging neckline and a cinched waist, finished with a statement gold belt that added a subtle hint of glamour. Her long brunette hair fell in soft waves over her shoulders, while understated jewellery and bronzed makeup completed the look. The couple appeared relaxed and affectionate throughout the evening, smiling warmly and …

‘Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass’ Review: Dumb, Fun Comedy

‘Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass’ Review: Dumb, Fun Comedy

Last summer, it was such a treat to see The Naked Gun in theaters and laugh with giddy abandon. How rare that is these days, when most comedy is relegated to meme churn or, I guess, snarky asides in blockbuster spectaculars. An honest to goodness comedy, with no mission beyond making its audience guffaw, felt like a gift from on high. I worried we’d get nothing else like it for a long time, if ever. (I mean, I suppose there was Anaconda.)  Thank god, then, for David Wain and Ken Marino, the longtime comedy allies who have made wonderfully absurd things together since the 1990s. They have a new film, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass, that is proudly stupid, a scattershot, oddball comedy that makes the friendly, generous offer of simple amusement. Gail Daughtry isn’t on a par with Wain’s true masterpiece, Wet Hot American Summer, but it is still welcomely recognizable as one of his singular creations. Both goofy and edgy, the film may not land every punchline, but it satisfies in …
