US Ambassador to France Charles Kushner gives a news conference marking the 250th birthday of the US in 2026, Paris, December 4, 2025. CHRISTOPHE ENA / AP The US ambassador to Paris, Charles Kushner, called France’s foreign minister on Tuesday, February 24, and pledged not to “interfere” in the host country’s affairs, a diplomatic source said, after a fallout over Washington’s remarks following the killing of a far-right activist. The new diplomatic row between the two NATO allies broke out after Kushner flouted a summons over the US administration denouncing what it called “terrorism” and left-wing violence in France after the fatal beating of far-right activist Quentin Deranque, 23, earlier this month. France blocked the ambassador – whose son Jared is married to Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka – from having access to French government ministers until he explained himself. KAMIL ZIHNIOGLU FOR LE MONDE The atmosphere suddenly froze. In late October 2025, about 10 guests in a chic apartment on Paris’s Left Bank watched in stunned silence as Charles Kushner, the United States ambassador to France, erupted in fury. He lashed out, condemning the surge in antisemitism in France and accusing the authorities of allowing it to spread. The outburst – from a diplomat close to the US president, as the father of his son-in-law, Jared Kushner – shattered the usual restraint of Parisian dinner parties. It was sparked by a comment from philosopher Bernard-Henri Lévy, who described the tone of a letter Kushner had sent to French President Emmanuel Macron two months earlier as “over the top.” In that letter, published on August 24, 2025, by The Wall Street Journal, the American expressed his “deep concern over the dramatic rise of antisemitism in …

Authored by Aldgra Fredly via The Epoch Times, The White House announced on Jan. 16 the names of members appointed to the Gaza Board of Peace, which President Donald Trump created as part of phase two of a U.S.-backed plan to end the war in Gaza. Among the “founding executive board” members are U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff, Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The board also includes private equity executive Marc Rowan, World Bank President Ajay Banga, and U.S. national security adviser Robert Gabriel, according to a White House statement. The board, to be chaired by Trump, will oversee the Palestinian technocratic committee—also known as the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG)—which will be led by former Palestinian Authority official Ali Abdel Hamid Shaath.
