Paramount has become the new linear TV home for Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies after signing a a multiyear licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery. The deal, coming as the Paramount-WBD merger nears the finish line, covers 11 films and will kick off with marathon play for the eight Harry Potter tentpoles adapting J.K. A decade after the Pulse nightclub shooting killed 49 people in Orlando, survivors and families are marking the anniversary with grief, remembrance and a message that what happened on June 12, 2016, is still shaping their lives today. Across Orlando and beyond, vigils, church services and private ceremonies have been held to honor the victims of one of the deadliest mass shootings in U.S. history. At the site where the LGBTQ+ nightclub once stood, mourners gathered overnight as names were read aloud and candles lit in memory of those killed during a Latin-themed Pride Month event. Channel 4 records its biggest Christmas week on linear TV in over a decade

It was a strong Christmas for Channel 4 on linear TV, new data has revealed. According to data from BARB, the TV ratings agency, the broadcaster recorded its biggest Christmas week on linear TV since 2012. Channel 4 also recorded bigger year-on-year linear growth (9%) than BBC One (-17%), BBC Two (+3%), ITV1 (+2%) and 5 (+7%), per the data. This was in addition to achieving bigger year-on-year streaming growth than its rival broadcasters, with Channel 4’s streaming viewer minutes growing 48% year on year for the Christmas week – ahead of the BBC (-21%), Sky (-12%), 5 (+20%) and ITV (+16%).
