BYD’s new EV lures in buyers with 5-min charging, low prices
BYD launched the Song Ultra EV in China, starting at just under $22,000. The new EV is one of the first to be equipped with its Blade Battery and Flash Charging, enabling recharge times in as little as 5 minutes. BYD officially launched the Song Ultra EV in China on Thursday, March 26, starting at 151,900 yuan ($22,000). That’s far lower than the expected 220,000 yuan ($31,900) starting price, and the 155,000 yuan ($22,500) pre-sale price. It’s available in four trims with prices ranging up to 179,900 yuan ($26,000).
