Planning permits have been filed for a 124-stall V4 station on the city’s south side. The site is a yellow-cab storage lot at the corner of Alemany and Bayshore, wedged against the US-101 freeway. The permits also call for a 400-square-foot amenity building on the property. The filings were spotted and shared by Supercharger tracker MarcoRP on X. The project scope on the permit lists 124 V4 charging posts, along with the switchgear and 28 parking-lot lights needed to power and light a site that big. A drone attack described as “massive” has been launched deep inside Russia early on Monday, regional Russian authorities said. They accused Ukraine of launching the deadly strike on the TANECO oil refinery, owned by Russian oil company Tatneft, in the Tatarstan region, over 600 miles into the country. Radmir Belyayev, mayor of Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan, said at least 12 people were killed and 39 were injured in the attack on the city. In 2019, Amazon signed the Climate Pledge, aiming to help Earth’s environmental health. In 2026, Amazon aims to set a record for the most air pollution emitted by a single power plant. The New York Times reported that the company is building a new natural-gas-burning power plant in Pecos County, Texas, for a huge AI data center project. The plant, if built as planned, would emit approximately 33 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere annually, making it among the largest emitters in the United States. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is a little over halfway through a nearly month-long deep sea survey of the South Pacific near the Cook Islands. Its remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) have already amassed hours of footage, while onboard equipment is collecting valuable samples and sensor data along the abyssal plain. Much of this data will help the Cook Islands plan ways to utilize natural ocean resources like polymetallic nodules, masses along the seabed containing valuable rare earth materials. Much more than metals and minerals are locked inside these nodules, however.
