The Laguna Beach Cast Goes Back, Back to the Beginning

The Laguna Beach Cast Goes Back, Back to the Beginning

When I mentioned to Cavallari that I had attended the New York stop of her live podcast tour last year, her insistence that it was her worst appearance of that run was more clinical than self-deprecating. She also thought, to my considerable surprise, that Laguna Beach was boring, crediting its success to its timing, editing, music, and scenery. “Of course, now we’re living in this TikTok, social media world and everything is so fast-paced,” she said. “But really, when you break it down, a whole lot didn’t happen.” Like Conrad, though, Cavallari is cognizant of the show’s role in her current career as the proprietor of a business tied to her name and image. Uncommon James, her jewelry and skin-care company, relaunched her signature black choker from her Laguna Beach days in commemoration of the reunion. Plus, she didn’t mind having a chance to set the record straight about Cabo. “I thought I handled it exceptionally well for being an intoxicated 17-year-old with her ex-boyfriend yelling in her face,” Cavallari said. “And so I stand …

Kelly Osbourne’s battle to buy back MTV reality show mansion amid relationship heartbreak

Kelly Osbourne’s battle to buy back MTV reality show mansion amid relationship heartbreak

Kelly Osbourne revealed her family’s efforts to repurchase the home where they filmed their early noughties MTV reality show, weeks after announcing her separation from her Slipknot fiancé.  The 41-year-old daughter of Black Sabbath’s Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne explained how she and her family had been trying to buy back the house in the iconic 90210 Beverly Hills postcode, but the new owners refused to sell.  Living at the 513 Doheny Road mansion while filming their iconic MTV reality show, The Osbournes, Kelly kick-started her on-screen career in the house alongside her parents and her brother, Jack.  Since her father’s death in July last year, the mum-of-one revealed she had been involved in plans to bring the infamous Mediterranean-style home back into the Osbournes’ lives.  The famous family first moved into the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom gated home in March 2002 and lived there until 2007, when the property was sold to pop star Christina Aguilera, who stayed in the home for four years.  During a chat with Omaze for their Homes That Made Me series, Kelly …

Spencer Pratt Sister Stephanie Slams His L.A. Mayoral Campaign

Spencer Pratt Sister Stephanie Slams His L.A. Mayoral Campaign

Stephanie Pratt is calling out brother Spencer Pratt‘s campaign for Los Angeles mayor, saying a vote for the reality television star is a “vote for stupidity.” In a series of tweets shared over the weekend, the former star of MTV‘s The Hills launched a tirade of posts against her brother containing her reasoning for why he should not be elected, along with some allegations against him, including a claim of assault. After Spencer and wife Heidi Montag lost their home in the Palisades fire more than a year ago, the reality TV fixture has emerged as an influential and controversial public policy critic. The parents of two filed a lawsuit against the city over damage from the wildfires, and Spencer Pratt announced his bid to join the 2026 L.A. mayoral race as a populist outsider in January. The election will be held June 2. “Spencer has done great work for the palisades. But LA does not need another unqualified and inexperienced mayor. A vote for him is a vote for stupidity,” began Stephanie Pratt on Saturday night …

MTV Rewind Lets You Revisit 40,000 Music Videos & Commercials from the Golden Age of MTV

MTV Rewind Lets You Revisit 40,000 Music Videos & Commercials from the Golden Age of MTV

MTV still exists. At least, it still exists in the United States, or in certain of that country’s markets, for the time being. A flurry of premature obituaries recently blew through the internet after the announcement that the network had shut down in other parts of the world, Europe included. But even there, some expressed the sentiment that MTV had already died long before. And indeed, in the U.S., where it originally launched, asking who remembers when MTV actually used to play music videos has been a common lament for decades, aired even by generations too young to remember those days themselves. But members of any generation can now relive them — or live them for the first time — through a new site called MTV Rewind. The first music video that greets the visitor is The Buggles’ “Video Killed the Radio Star,” and appropriately so, since it inaugurated MTV itself when it went live on August 1st, 1981. What follows are all the rest of the videos played on that first day, like Phil Collins’ …

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Winners on Show Changes After 18 Seasons

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Winners on Show Changes After 18 Seasons

RuPaul’s Drag Race has kicked off its eighteenth installment, crawling closer and closer to a milestone 20th season.  Premiering almost 17 years ago, the series has gone through plenty of changes as the franchise worked out its now polished structure: a batch of drag artists compete in weekly challenges; one queen earns a win for their performance; two queens land in the “bottom” of the competition and perform against one another in a lip sync for their life; and the winner of said lip sync stays in the running for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar.  It’s a tried and true format that has remained steadfast over all 18 seasons, its three varying network homes and a plethora of international spinoffs. But in the early days of RuPaul’s Drag Race, before they snatched up 29 Emmy Awards, there was no preexisting framework for queens to reference going into the competition. They simply went into things blind, as all first-season reality TV contestants do.  “When we started, we had no blueprint,” season one winner BeBe …
