There’s nothing quite like slipping into a cute pair of panties to help pull your life together when everything else is falling apart. Sure, the world is on fire and our newsfeeds have never looked bleaker – but it’s nothing the petal-soft touch of a new thong can’t sweeten. Facetiousness aside, the power of new underwear is underestimated. Whether you’re a lace love or silk connoisseur, lingerie offers the ultimate boost of self-confidence when we’re feeling a little low which, considering the climate, is a rather frequent occurence. © @nicolaannepeltzbeckhamNicola Peltz Beckham wearing a pair of slogan pants Enter an unlikely hero – Nicola Peltz Beckham. While the media continues to pick apart the heiress’ tumultuous relationship with her in-laws, our attention fell to her wardrobe. Last week, the 31-year-old took to social media to debut a new summer-ready look – a broderie anglaise babydoll dress peppered with crocheted strawberry motifs and polka dots by Frankies Bikinis. The brand’s Coppola Dress was coolly styled with a pair of white cotton embroidered undies, emblazoned with the …

Brace yourself – wedge sneakers are back on the scene

Brace yourself – wedge sneakers are back on the scene

Fashion is inherently nostalgic. We often look back in order to look forward – it’s how trends are born. So far, 2026 has witnessed the return of the peacoat, Topshop’s epic comeback and the tutu skirt renaissance. There are even whispers of the skinny jean revival. Cue the Neyo hits and glimmering blue eyeshadow. The latest item to unearth itself from the sartorial archives? The wedge sneaker – one of the most divisive styles to emerge from the industry’s shoewear department. Let me take you back to 2012. French house Isabel Marant debuts the iconic Bekett Sneaker, defined by a suede exterior, an incorporated wedged heel, a high top silhouette and velcro-strap detailing. Within months, the kicks have been worn by stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Kendall Jenner, Lindsay Lohan and, perhaps most famously, Beyoncé – who sported a pair for her Love On Top music video. Zendaya even took to Instagram sporting an off-white pair, visible beneath a grainy, old-school Valencia Instagram filter.  © GettyLindsay Lohan wearing wedge sneakers in 2012 Considering Gen Z’s …

The Marbles & the Muses | James Romm

The Marbles & the Muses | James Romm

On September 5, 2006, in an operation conducted not by surgeons but by museum curators, a nameless Athenian man had his severed foot reattached. The foot—a chunk of marble—had been returned to Athens by Germany’s Heidelberg University, where it had arrived sometime before 1871, perhaps filched out of the Parthenon’s ruins by a German tourist. The restoration marked the first time that a piece of the Parthenon frieze—a bas-relief masterpiece that once wrapped around the 524-foot perimeter of the building’s main chamber, inside its colonnade—had been returned to Greece since the early nineteenth century, when about half the frieze, along with a host of other Acropolis sculptures, was taken out of the country. The mastermind and sponsor of that removal was a Scottish nobleman, Thomas Bruce, Earl of Elgin; the collection of sculptures he exported, purchased in 1816 by the British government and exhibited in the British Museum to this day, has come to be known as the Elgin Marbles. Two months after the reattachment of the foot, Birgit Wiger-Angner, a retired gym teacher in …

Floral boots are the whimsy spring trend we didn’t know we needed

Floral boots are the whimsy spring trend we didn’t know we needed

Florals for spring – you know the drill. Blossom pink hues, petal silhouettes and foliage detailing bloom right on cue each year when the sun decides to rear its head and thaw the muted palettes of winter.  Yet, one corner of the fashion industry that has remained fairly untouched by the feminine theme is footwear, more specifically, boots.  Floral boots boast a history as vibrant as their aesthetic. In the 18th century, during the frivolous Rococo period, silk jacquard options were favoured by the aristocratic and affluent in France, who adopted the dainty Pompadour heel – an homage to Madame de Pompadour, mistress of King Louis XV. © ValentinoValentino Resort SS26 These curved kicks paved the way for similarly intricate styles worn during the Victorian era, which took place a century or so later. Victorian designers favoured light, ornate aesthetics reminiscent of the Rococo period, yet replaced dated buckle adornments with adjustable lace-up detailing to provide a more functional fit. Either way, the shoes produced from both movements looked like they could have been painted …

Cheltenham Festival: Best dressed guests at the 2026 races

Cheltenham Festival: Best dressed guests at the 2026 races

The British social season is back once again for 2026, and nothing gets us geared up for the festivities ahead quite like the Cheltenham Festival. Racegoers – from royals and racing fanatics to fashion lovers – have been showcasing their race day finery here since 1860, making it one of the most stylish fixtures in the calendar. Today, British heritage style sits at the top of the fashion agenda, with racegoers leaning into timeless tweeds, luxurious outerwear and statement accessories – all perfectly suited to the unpredictable March weather. Think sharply tailored coats, felt fedoras, leather gloves and knee-high boots: practical pieces elevated with plenty of polish. Country lifestyle brand Holland Cooper returns once again as the official ladies’ fashion partner and, for 2026, also makes its debut as the Official Luxury Fashion Partner of The Jockey Club – a fitting collaboration given the brand’s signature blend of countryside elegance and contemporary tailoring. In 2024, festival bosses announced that Ladies Day – traditionally the day that encouraged women to dress to impress – would be …

I sourced these vintage Jimmy Choo boots from the 90s – and they’re just like Jennifer Aniston’s

I sourced these vintage Jimmy Choo boots from the 90s – and they’re just like Jennifer Aniston’s

It’s undeniable what a pair of simple, sleek black boots with a flirty kitten heel can do for your wardrobe. A true capsule staple, they’ve proven their staying power, and that’s exactly why investing in a quality pair is so worthwhile. This is where I always turn to vintage offerings and embark on my long, thrilling search. Enter: my Vinted treasure hunt. Since its founding in 1996, Jimmy Choo has been synonymous with the craftsmanship and timeless quality of footwear. The brand embodies high fashion while prioritising comfort and wearability. That’s why I was so excited when, mid-scroll through the light blue app, I was stopped in my tracks by a pair in pristine condition. Listed by stylist and designer reseller Eve Kelly, known on social media as @steezyy_steve_, they were a pair of black leather stiletto boots plucked from the archives of the late 90s. They sit just below the knee with a streamlined, fitted silhouette, featuring a zip-up design adorned with the brand’s logo, a flirty kitten heel, and a sultry pointed toe. …

Forget low-rise jeans – Amanda Seyfried just brought back the belly button ring

Forget low-rise jeans – Amanda Seyfried just brought back the belly button ring

To pierce or not to pierce? That is the question that regularly rattles around my head when feeling A) bored B) spontaneous or C) uncool. Take it from someone with too many earrings to count, a new piercing can fix anything, from a dull rainy day to a quarter life crisis. However, I’ve always been on the fence when it comes to piercing a body part beside my face. You often hear horror stories about a friend of a friend who braved the needle only to wind up with some ghastly infection that warranted an emergency hospital visit.  No matter, the idea of a belly button piercing has always intrigued me. Cute and undeniably kitsch, these sparkly accessories have been championed by It-girls including Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Priyanka Chopra and most recently Amanda Seyfried – who bore hers proudly while attending the Tory Burch AW26 show during New York Fashion Week. © GC ImagesAmanda Seyfried attends the Tory Burch AW26 Show during New York Fashion Week “I’ll never get rid of it. I’m a fashion writer – here’s how to style a plaid shirt this season

I’m a fashion writer – here’s how to style a plaid shirt this season

The fashion sphere takes great pleasure in transforming humble staples into the season’s most coveted pieces. Next on the styling-hack agenda is none other than your plaid shirt. Yes – the one buried deep in your wardrobe, untouched since your school-uniform days or that brief era when we all dabbled in grunge rebellion. But today, this lumberjack-inspired staple has been reworked, giving checkered flannel shirts a decidedly cool resurgence. Expect bold colour clashes for maximalist moments, or monochrome versions with subtle prints for low-key everyday styling.  If you were a fan of the styling scarves as belts during the summer, consider the plaid shirt as the autumn/winter reinterpretation. Reimagined on runways and curated by influencers, they are cinched at the waist like skirts or draped over slip dresses. This layering trick adds unexpected volume and texture to the silhouette, resulting in a look that feels striking yet wearable.  © @_olhirst_The layering hack adds volume to the silhouette The styling hack harks back to the grunge and club scenes of the 90s – think the Nirvana …

The moodboards shaping the H! Fashion team’s 2026

The moodboards shaping the H! Fashion team’s 2026

I’m not easily influenced. In fact, I’m loving the ‘de-influencer’ trend that’s currently taking over TikTok. However, earlier this week, I dropped the ball. During my ritual pre-bed doomscroll (health is wealth guys), I came across a content creator’s post that listed her tips for how to prepare for the new year.  One of the pointers included in her meticulously crafted carousel caught my eye – making a moodboard. What started out as a perfect excuse to mess around on Canva (a favourite pastime of the H! Fashion girls), turned out to be a wholly cathartic activity. Influencer – 1, Anti-influencer – 0.  What did I envision for 2026? The obvious, such as Dua Lipa-inspired holidays, career growth, good health, plenty of sleep and puppies. Yet, the exercise prompted deeper consideration as to what I truly wanted to squeeze out of the 365 days ahead. More road trips, the feeling of calm you get when you look at a Georgia O’Keefe painting, slogan tops. Visualising my goals, dreams and desires was a surprisingly fun, intimate experience.  …

Kylie Jenner’s sheer lace Critics Choice Awards dress was date night perfection

Kylie Jenner’s sheer lace Critics Choice Awards dress was date night perfection

This year’s Critics Choice Awards were a night to remember for Timothée Chalamet. The 30-year-old won the prestigious Best Actor award for his new critically acclaimed movie Marty Supreme, pipping Leonardo DiCaprio to the post As always, Kylie Jenner was in attendance to support her beau, whom he gave a shoutout to in his award-winning speech. But before we get to what he said about the youngest Kardashian/Jenner sister, we need to give an honourable mention to her incredible dress for the occasion. The 28-year-old oozed after-hours glamour in a vintage FW 1996 Gianni Versace Couture gown, purchased from Tab Vintage, styled by Mackenzie Grandquist and Alexandra Rose Grandquist. The incredible shimmery, inky-black gown featured a body-skimming silhouette (Kylie’s go-to), spaghetti straps that were symbolic of the 90s, sheer lace panelling adding texture, interest and subtle sensuality, and a sculpted neckline which framed the décolletage. © Variety via Getty ImagesKylie Jenner stunned in vintage Versace at the 31st Annual Critics Choice Awards It’s the perfect date-night red carpet dress because it’s polished yet slightly sultry, …
