Savannah Guthrie Returns to ‘Today’ Show in Interview with Hoda Kotb

Savannah Guthrie is returning to NBC’s Today show via a lengthy interview with her colleague and friend Hoda Kotb. The talk show rolled a short clip of their conversation on Wednesday morning — Guthrie and Kotb sat down together on Tuesday — the full thing will air in two halves across Thursday and Friday’s episodes. “Someone needs to do the right thing. We are in agony. We are in agony. It is unbearable. And to think of what she went through. I wake up every night in the middle of the night — every night,” Guthrie told Kotb in the emotional clip rolled on Wednesday. “And in the darkness, I imagine her terror, and it is unthinkable — but those thoughts demand to be thought. And I will not hide my face. But she needs to come home now.” Guthrie, the beloved co-anchor of the program (alongside Craig Melvin), returned to the Today set on March 5 for an off-air visit with her co-workers. Some of the emotional reunion was captured by photographers. “Savannah Guthrie …

Savannah Guthrie Says She Has ‘Every Intention’ to Return to Today Show

The Today show is sharing more details about Savannah Guthrie’s return. Guthrie visited the Today show set on Thursday for an emotional off-camera appearance. In the surprise visit, she thanked her colleagues for their love, support and for “caring about my mom as much as I do,” the NBC News talk show shared after her visit. The longtime Today co-anchor has been off the air since her mother, Nancy Guthrie, was seemingly abducted in Tucson, Arizona, on the weekend of Jan. 31. Nancy Guthrie, who is 84 and has a heart condition, has not been seen or heard from since. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI currently have not publicly shared any serious leads. “I wanted you to know that I’m still standing, and I still have hope and I’m still me. I don’t know what version of me that will be, but it will be,” Guthrie told the Today team during her visit. It has been unknown whether Guthrie will make a return professionally to Today, but she revealed during her visit that she does plan to, …

What Will ‘Today’ Do if Savannah Guthrie Doesn’t Return?

What Will ‘Today’ Do if Savannah Guthrie Doesn’t Return?

Savannah Guthrie and her family — including her extended one at NBC’s Today show — are three weeks into a waking nightmare. It is believed that in the early morning hours of Sunday, Feb. 1, Guthrie family matriarch Nancy Guthrie was kidnapped in a violent encounter and removed from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Her whereabouts remain unknown and the Guthrie family has received no proof of life. The terrible personal circumstances put any professional matters on the back burner. At Today, the mood has been shock and concern for their good friend and longtime colleague Savannah. There is also fear, and to that end, enhanced security. But the harsh reality of the business is that the show must go on, and Today has done so without its beloved co-anchor, who really is the mooring of the morning show. Once it became clear that a very serious crime had been committed in Tucson, the folks at Today in New York City did what they could to support Savannah from afar. They sent love to Savannah …

Nancy Guthrie Case Sheriff Has Reality Show on A&E

Nancy Guthrie Case Sheriff Has Reality Show on A&E

If the stuff coming out of the Pima County Sheriff’s Office amid the search for Nancy Guthrie feels like it belongs in a reality TV show, well, it kind of already does. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office, led by Sheriff Chris Nanos, is the featured group of cops on A&E’s Desert Law, which airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. (following a new episode of Ozark Law). Feb. 18’s Desert Law episode, “Weapons Found,” centers on the specific challenges that come with policing in a state, Arizona, with “some of loosest gun laws in the country.” Nanos doesn’t appear in the show but coordinates with A&E given that his officers and detectives are the featured stars of the reality format (its first episode is titled “Welcome to Pima County”). Not appearing on camera was the Sheriff’s call, a source close to the production tells The Hollywood Reporter. Desert Law season one and two were filmed back-to-back in 2025, so you won’t see any Guthrie coverage in this batch. The series premiered in January (no word on a …

Nancy Guthrie Family, Spouses Not Suspects in Abduction: Sheriff

The Arizona sheriff investigating the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, has a message for those who think that her family, including spouses of family members, is behind the elder Guthrie’s disappearance. They’re not. “To be clear…the Guthrie family – to include all siblings and spouses – has been cleared as possible suspects in this case,” the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement released Monday. “The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case.” The statement continues. “To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple … please, I’m begging you the media to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism.” The statement comes in the wake of Ashleigh Banfield reporting shortly after Nancy Guthrie was declared missing that her son-in-law Tommaso Cioni, one of the last people to see the elder Guthrie before she vanished, “may be” the “prime suspect” in the alleged kidnapping. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously spoke …

Savannah Guthrie Posts New Message About Mom Nancy’s Disappearance

Savannah Guthrie posted a new video on Sunday saying she and her family “still have hope” that they will find her missing mom, Nancy Guthrie, and made a plea to anyone who knows something about what happened to her to come forward. “It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope,” the Today host said of her and her family in a video posted on Instagram. “And we still believe.”  She also begged for whomever might have information to come forward and share that. “I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is, it’s never too late,” she continued. “And you’re not lost, or alone. And it is never too late to do the right thing. And we are here. We believe. And we believe in the essential goodness of every human being. And it’s never too late.” Nancy, 84, was reported missing from her Tucson home on Feb. 1, after she didn’t show up at a …

Search for Missing Nancy Guthrie Could Take ‘Months or Years’: Sheriff

Chris Nanos, the Arizona sheriff leading the search for Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother, Nancy Guthrie, remains hopeful she will be found. However, when that might happen is unclear. “Maybe it’s an hour from now,” Nanos told the New York Times on Friday. “Maybe it’s weeks or months or years from now. But we won’t quit. We’re going to find Nancy. We’re going to find this guy.” He added that investigators are “looking hard” and acknowledged that “it’s exhausting, these ups and downs. But we will keep moving forward.” Earlier this week, it appeared authorities were getting closer to answers in the two-week search for Guthrie, 84, who was reported missing on Feb. 1. Officials have said they believe she was abducted, and police detained a delivery driver in Arizona as a possible suspect after reviewing previously released doorbell camera footage. However, the 36-year-old man, identified only as Carlos, was released Tuesday after being held for several hours. He told the NYT he had been sitting in his car in Rio Rico, Arizona, when officers approached …

Person Detained in Suspected Kidnapping of Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Nancy Guthrie

A person has been detained for questioning related to the abduction of Savannah Guthrie‘s mother Nancy Guthrie, a law enforcement official told NBC News Tuesday night. No updates on Nancy’s whereabouts were reported. The Hollywood Reporter has gone out to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department for more information. The advancement comes after the FBI released a series of surveillance photos and two videos of a potential suspect. In the footage, obtained by Nancy’s doorbell and security cameras, a person can be seen wearing a jacket, ski mask and gloves, with a backpack on and a firearm at the waist. The 84-year-old was reported missing on Sunday, Feb. 1, after she did not show up for church. Local authorities and the FBI have treated Nancy’s disappearance from her Tucson, Arizona, home as a possible kidnapping or abduction. The Today show host shared multiple video messages online alongside her brother, Camron Guthrie, and sister, Annie Guthrie, pleading for the safe return of her mother. On Feb. 4, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department acknowledged the reporting of a ransom note, …

Savannah Guthrie Pleads for Public’s Help Finding Mother Nancy Guthrie

Savannah Guthrie has a message for the public as the search for her mother, Nancy Guthrie, continues. The Today show co-host took to her Instagram on Monday to share a new video, asking for people’s help, as “we are at an hour of desperation.” Nancy was first reported missing on Sunday, Feb. 1, and authorities believe she was likely taken against her will in a “possible kidnapping or abduction.” “Hi there, everybody. I wanted to come on and just share a few thoughts,” Guthrie began the video. “As we enter into another week of this nightmare, I just want to say first of all, thank you so much for all of the prayers and the love that we have felt, my sister and brother and I. And that our mom has felt. Because we believe that somehow, someway, she is feeling these prayers, and that God is lifting her even in this moment and in this darkest place. We believe our mom is still out there. She continued, “We need your help. Law enforcement is working …
