On Monday morning, the broadcaster announced it had abruptly severed ties with Mills with immediate effect due to allegations about his personal conduct, meaning he would no longer be fronting the Radio 2 breakfast show. Since then, The Mirror has reported that his exit came following a complaint made about a previous police investigation involving the presenter. While this remains unconfirmed by the BBC, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson told the newspaper: “In December 2016, the Met began an investigation following a referral from another police force. “The investigation related to allegations of serious sexual offences against a teenage boy.
