The Best Watches of 2026 (So Far)

The Best Watches of 2026 (So Far)

I’ve been calling this steel Speedmaster the “Audi of Moonwatches.” It’s not on the high end, like one of Colman Domingo’s diamond-set gold versions, but it’s also several steps above your typical base model. This is the sensible luxury Speedy with a slightly upgraded dial. Rather than a single plane with contrasting sub-registers, this iteration’s dial uses two plates—black on top and white beneath it—to add depth. The effect really works for me, especially since it creates a “panda”-style dial, which wasn’t available on a modern Speedmaster before this model debuted in January. The Two for the Price of One Award: Dennison Dual Time “Shades” COREY CRAWFORD Dennison has made a name for itself on the strength and versatility of this Dual Time model. In 2025, the brand used it to fuse two different stones onto a single dial. Now, they’re opting for something much chiller. The new “Shades” collection leverages the two-faced dial with tonal hues of green, brown, and blue. The result is a trinity of really handsome and unique watches. Dennison has …

This Groundbreaking Omega Watch’s Accuracy Is Calibrated Using Sound

Omega has been making the Constellation for more than 70 years, a watch that was the Swiss brand’s elegant flagship timepiece before the Speedmaster landed in 1957. It got its moniker from an image on its caseback—an observatory beneath eight stars. The stars symbolized two chronometer records and six first-place precision awards that Omega earned between 1933 and 1952, the year the Constellation launched. But Omega’s new Constellation Observatory collection has a completely new procedure for measuring accuracy, one that gets around the thorny issue of these pieces having no seconds hand. Why should a seconds hand matter? Watches are tested for accuracy with photographic tracking of the seconds hand over a period of time. Having no seconds hand makes this impossible. The Constellation Observatory pieces, however, grant Omega some watchmaking history as they are the first two-hand watches to achieve Master Chronometer certification without a seconds hand. Traditional testing by COSC—the Swiss body that certifies the accuracy of Swiss watches—uses photographic tech to measure the position of the hands in different positions and temperatures …

Omega Officially Unveils the Mysterious Watch It Teased at the Oscars

Omega Officially Unveils the Mysterious Watch It Teased at the Oscars

Well, we can put an official name and release to another mysterious Omega. Remember last week, when Sinners star (and colossus of American stage and screen) Delroy Lindo showed up at the Oscars wearing a mysterious gold-on-gold Omega? If ID’ing the watch has been keeping you up at night—or is it just us?—you can now rest easy. This week, Omega revealed the ticker in question to be a particularly bougie member of a whole new Omega Constellation collection. Unlike the Speedmaster, with its ties to Apollo astronauts, and the Seamaster’s association with James Bond, the Omega Constellation is a far deeper, more esoteric cut. Long one of the best buys in the vintage Omega universe, the Constellation—or “Connie” as it’s known to fans—was introduced in 1952 as the world’s first collection of completely chronometer-certified watches. (TL;DR, A chronometer is a term for a highly accurate watch, and before the age of digital timekeeping, chronometry competitions held at observatories around the world were what separated the big-league brands from the wannabes.) Signed on their casebacks with …

All the Best Watches From the 2026 Oscars

All the Best Watches From the 2026 Oscars

Like this year’s slate of Oscar-nominated movies, the best watches of the 98th Academy Awards had something for everyone, and a few fun surprises. As ever, the classics were well represented by the likes of Leo DiCaprio, who kept things traditional with the dressiest member of the Rolex fam, and Simu Liu, who rocked an ultra-limited—and ever so classy—platinum Zenith. Then there was the usual assortment of big-ticket crowd-pleasers, including Kumail Nanjiani’s Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton and the Blancpain Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet Phases de Lune sported by Robert Downey Jr., who reunited with Chris Evans (in a sleek Chopard dress watch) to present the evening’s two screenplany awards. In addition to the cast of red carpet mainstays from Rolex and Audemars Piguet, there was a serious contingent of quirky vintage pieces and deeper current-catalog cuts that kept things interesting, both on the Oscars red carpet and at the Vanity Fair afterparty. Michael B. Jordan, who has become known for his collection of vintage Piagets, didn’t disappoint with yet another 1970s banger, while …

Connor Storrie Sported an Underrated Omega on SNL

Connor Storrie Sported an Underrated Omega on SNL

Ever since its debut on HBO Max in late November, Heated Rivalry has staged a lightning-fast takeover of American cultural mindshare, catapulting stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie into the spotlight. It has also given the actors a platform to show off a heated rivalry of a different sort in their escalating battle for wristwear supremacy. There was the diamond-studded Serpenti that Hudson Williams wore to the Golden Globes. (Hopefully more stylish dudes will follow his lead—after all, if a man will confidently wear a teeny tiny Cartier, he can certainly pull off a watch shaped like a snake.) Then there was the IWC Portofino Complete Calendar that Connor Storrie wore on Seth Meyers back in January. At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before Williams one-ups him with a Grand Complication. Photograph courtesy of Omega; Getty Images Before he can do that, however, Connor Storrie managed to get a few more points on the board by wearing the criminally underrated Seamaster Aqua Terra Shades for his SNL opening monologue last weekend. Though …

Watch Party: The Best TAG in Years, a ’60s Sensation, and Omega Goes All White

Watch Party: The Best TAG in Years, a ’60s Sensation, and Omega Goes All White

The 44-mm Big Bang Tourbillon GOAT Edition’s case is a special Hublot-developed composite made from Lacoste polos and Head tennis racquets (yes, really), reinforced by a mid-case of Titaplast (the world’s strongest polymer). Then there’s a three-dimensional main plate that looks like racquet strings, as well as a tennis-ball-shaped power reserve barrel. We’re not done yet! The white leather strap is supposed to mimic a racquet grip, and finally the watch comes in three colors—blue, orange, and green—to call out grass, clay and hard court surfaces. Ace. $121,000 at Hublot. Tiffany & Co Tiffany Timer Courtesy of Clement Rousset/Tiffany & Co The original Tiffany Timer, actually called the “Timing Watch,” was a chronograph pocket watch that came out 160 years ago, in 1866. This piece is now informing the design on Tiffany’s new offering, which is limited to just 60 pieces. Now the Timer comes in a 40-mm platinum case, but the winning aesthetic is secured by the Tiffany Blue lacquer on the dial, consisting of 15 layers, which incidentally alone takes more than two …
