The fifth installment of the beloved franchise hit theaters last month and has raked in an impressive $957 million, likely on its way to becoming the highest-grossing film in the franchise. But its impact is felt beyond the screen thanks to Disney’s long-standing partnership with Starlight Children’s Foundation. As part of the partnership, the company has converted hospital spaces into immersive screening events for patients and their families. The film became available to patients in more than 400 children’s hospitals globally, including more than 300 across the U.S. Disney says it distributed more than 18,000 Toy Story 5-themed toys and 34,000 character-inspired hospital gowns to children and families. Lindsay Hubbard on Summer House Season 11 Filming, Florastor Partnership

Lindsay Hubbard on Summer House Season 11 Filming, Florastor Partnership

Lindsay Hubbard is always on the go. Whether she’s at the summer house, somewhere in the city, or just tackling her everyday tasks as a mother, there aren’t many opportunities she turns down. “I’m a yes person. I’m not a no person,” Hubbard tells The Hollywood Reporter. It can be hard for the reality star to find time to fit wellness into her schedule, which is why teaming up with Florastor in support of their new Digest + Skin Renew Probiotic was a natural partnership.  “Honestly, I don’t have a lot of time to focus on myself,” she says. “So the easier and more simplified that my routine can be, which is basically taking a probiotic in the morning, the better off I am.”  Florastor’s Digest + Skin Renew Probiotic is formulated to work from the inside out, providing digestive balance and botanicals to boost younger-looking skin. Hubbard says the probiotic is particularly important in her daily routine because of its focus on fostering a positive gut-skin connection.  “I love that [Florastor] has launched their …

France, Germany Expand Defence Partnership as Europe Seeks More Military Autonomy

By Andreas Rinke and Florence Loeve BRUEHL, Germany, July 17 (Reuters) – The leaders of Germany and France pledged on Friday to deepen defence cooperation and counter intense economic competition from China, which they said was exerting drastic pressure on Europe through overcapacity and an undervalued currency. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French President Emmanuel Macron met as part of a ‌regular series of joint cabinet meetings, looking ‌to get past tensions over the collapse of a joint fighter jet project earlier this year. “We are doing what is necessary to safeguard our freedom, our security and our collective defence,” Merz told a joint press conference at which the two outlined a list of objectives including missile defence and long-range strike systems. Both leaders took aim at China, which they said was not respecting the rules of international trade by offering at least eight times the level of state support to its industry seen in other countries in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.  “I am not prepared to accept that things can remain …

The Bizarre Partnership Between the U.S. and Venezuela

The Bizarre Partnership Between the U.S. and Venezuela

James Story, America’s last chargé d’affaires in Venezuela before the embassy closed in 2019, left after the foreign minister passed along a message. The warning was stark, Story told me: If he stayed, he might be murdered. When American diplomats raised the flag at the embassy in March, for the first time in seven years, they stood outside a building that had been festering in the tropical heat and taken over by black mold. The hostility between the two countries had been festering too, culminating in the moment that the Trump administration sent in special operators to snatch President Nicolás Maduro and his wife. Since then, U.S. leaders and staff—many of them working out of a Marriott two miles from the embassy—have been racing to get reacquainted with one of the most repressive regimes in the hemisphere, filled with some of the same people whom the U.S. has put under indictment for drug trafficking or who have U.S.-sponsored bounties on their heads. The humanitarian response to the deadly earthquakes in Venezuela last month has only …

BBC “Discussing” Streaming Partnership With Channel 4

BBC “Discussing” Streaming Partnership With Channel 4

In the wake of Sky’s landmark acquisition of rival public broadcaster ITV, the new BBC boss has revealed that the company is in conversation with Channel 4 about potentially combining their streaming services. Matt Brittin, who took over from former BBC director-general Tim Davie in May this year, faced politicians at a U.K. parliament culture committee on Wednesday, where he detailed the necessity of a British “sovereign platform” that can rival U.S. tech giants like YouTube and Netflix. It comes just two days after the news that Sky would be buying ITV for £1.6 billion. And a combined Comcast-owned Sky and ITV would create a formidable British media group in the face of a mass audience shift to digital platforms and streamers, but it’ll also certainly put fellow cash-strapped PSBs on their toes. “We have had an approach and have had a discussion with Channel 4,” said ex-Google exec Brittin to MPs. “In the world of the ITV-Sky merger, Channel 4 looks very sub-scale. All of these mergers are driven by the need to have scale. …

May Mobility Aims to Expand Robotaxi Operations Overseas Through New Partnership

Self-driving tech company May Mobility is looking to bring its robotaxis to new international markets by teaming up with Chinese ride-hailing service CaoCao. The partnership, announced Wednesday, aims to bring “large-scale commercialization of robotaxi services” to more locations, starting in Europe. As part of the agreement, the two companies will look into expanding commercial robotaxi operations and launch pilot programs in “key markets, including Europe.” CaoCao will own the robotaxi fleet and operate services such as vehicle support and maintenance, while May Mobility’s autonomous driving tech will power the self-driving fleet.  May Mobility has previously partnered with ride-hailing companies Lyft and Uber to bring its robotaxis to cities including Atlanta and, soon, Arlington, Texas. Earlier this year, May Mobility expanded into Japan and says it’s completed more than half a million commercial autonomous rides in the US and Japan. It currently uses hybrid-electric Toyota Sienna minivans equipped with its self-driving technology and aims to announce a new third-party vehicle platform later this year. May Mobility’s autonomous vehicle system relies on multi-policy decision making technology. The company says …
