Terrifying audio captures near miss of two passenger flights | US | News

Two passenger jets came perilously close to a midair collision, passing within 350 feet of one another as they attempted to land at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York on Monday afternoon. Audio recordings from ATC.com of exchanges between pilots and air traffic control corroborated the radar data. “You are flying through the approach course of runway 31 left. Correct immediately,” the controller instructed the Republic pilots. “Jazz 554 climb and maintain 3,000 (feet),” a separate controller ordered, directing the aircraft to alter its course. “The traffic on your left is overshooting the parallel.” Flight tracking service FlightRadar24 revealed that an American Airlines-operated aircraft and an Air Canada-operated aircraft came alarmingly close to one another as they made their approach to the runway. Republic Airways Flight 4464 “performed a go-around” shortly after 2:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration, cutting directly into the path of Jazz Aviation Flight 554 as both aircraft tried to land. Data from FlightRadar24 indicated that the Republic aircraft rapidly descended approximately 600 feet within seconds while passing over …

British Airways issue statement as passenger dies on flight | UK | News

British Airways has issued a statement after a passenger was left in a galley for over 13 hours on a flight. The woman, who was reportedly in her 60s, died an hour into a journey from Hong Kong to London Heathrow. Rather than turn back, the pilots of the Airbus A350-1000 continued the flight. Towards the end of the journey there were complaints from passengers about a “foul smell” from the area around a galley on board. A British Airways spokesman said: “A customer sadly passed away on board and our thoughts are with their family and friends at this difficult time. We are supporting our crew and all procedures were correctly followed.” An unnamed source told The Sun the family with the woman were distraught, and so were the crew. They added that many passengers wanted to go back to Hong Kong, but the death of a passenger is not considered an emergency. The source said the flight deck wanted the body to be stored in a toilet, but that proposal was rejected by …

The kindness of strangers: On the plane I was overwhelmed with grief, then a passenger let me rest my head on his shoulder | Australian lifestyle

A long-haul flight in economy is never an appealing prospect but this one felt especially tough. I was leaving California after the death of my father to return to Australia, where I live. I was exhausted, emotional and prone to bursting into tears. It was always hard leaving my birthplace, friends and family behind, and this time I was also contending with the loss of my beloved dad. I was desperately hoping I might have a spare seat next to me on the plane so I could get some sleep, or at least a little privacy. There would be no such luck. When I checked in, the desk staff told me the flight was completely full; worse still, I was in the very last row. Mine was the aisle seat, right beside the toilet and the galley – the busiest, most public place on the plane, when what I really needed was peace. When I boarded and saw my seat, I really fell apart. Next to me was a very large, bodybuilder-type guy, who was …

‘Total shambles’: Passenger hits out at delayed UK charter flight from Middle East – as minister responds | UK News

The flight to evacuate Britons stuck in the region due to the Iran war was scheduled to depart Muscat in Oman at 11pm local time on Wednesday. However, it never took off and the passenger said they had been told the pilot needed to rest. Follow live updates on the Middle East crisis The Briton – who wanted to stay anonymous – told Sky News: “[The] check-in process took about four hours due to technical issues. We then got taken to the plane on a bus but had to stay on it for about one-and-a-half hours. “No consular staff were present airside. They just left us. People started getting very agitated, banging windows, panic attacks. “There are dozens and dozens of vulnerable people, young children and families.” A Foreign Office spokesperson said: “The UK government charter flight was not able to depart from …

Police open fire at passenger after knife threat causes panic at Iloilo airport

A man was shot by a police officer at Iloilo International Airport in the Philippines on Jan 28, after he allegedly tried to stab enforcement officers who were responding to a commotion following a security screening. An eyewitness at the airport told online news channel News5 in the Philippines that people at the airport suddenly started running in panic after noticing a man holding a knife. The incident was said to have happened around 4.45pm. A video posted by a Facebook user showed the man running while pointing a knife at pursuing officers. Screams could be heard in the airport terminal, followed by the sound of a gunshot. Hero British Bus Driver Fired For Stopping Thief And Protecting Passenger

Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news, In a nation where self-defense is apparently a fireable offense, Mark Hehir, a dedicated London bus driver, has been hailed as a hero by the public but sacked by his employer for daring to chase down a thief who snatched a passenger’s necklace. This absurdity highlights how the UK’s bureaucratic overlords prioritize corporate protocols over actual justice, leaving ordinary citizens vulnerable to rampant crime while the establishment looks the other way. Hehir’s act of bravery, which even the police deemed “proportionate and necessary,” has sparked petitions, fundraisers, and widespread fury online. But in today’s Britain, where globalist policies have eroded basic freedoms, punishing the good guys seems to be the new normal—echoing a broader decline that sees literal convicted terrorists eyeing political power while heroes like Hehir get the boot. A thief stole a necklace A bus driver caught the thief and got the necklace back British Police arrested the Bus Driver and he got sacked. Passenger aircraft ‘vanishes’ as air traffic control ‘loses communication’ with plane | World | News

All 15 people on board a small passenger aircraft have died after the aircraft crashed in Colombia. A Satena Airline plane vanished on Wednesday afternoon after it lost communications with air traffic control in the North Santander, northern Colombia. The HK4709 flight was travelling from Cucuta to Ocaña on Wednesday with 15 people on board, including 13 passengers and two crew members.  Air traffic control lost communication with the aircraft shortly before 12pm local time (5pm GMT). The small aircraft was scheduled to land only a few minutes later at Aguas Claras Airport in Ocaña, the second-largest populated area in the North Santander department.   Alarm was raised over the small aircraft, which is believed to have the capacity of carrying 19 passengers, as it failed to reach its destination.  The last location recorded by radar placed the aircraft in an area between the municipalities of Hacarí and La Playa de Belén, in the Catatumbo region, Colombian news outlet El Heraldo reports.   Satena confirmed that the plane had taken off at 11.42am and was scheduled to …
