Patti LuPone has revealed that an LGBTQ+ cruise ship she is performing on has been banned from entering Turkey. The Tony Award winner took to Instagram to share her shock regarding the news. LuPone is scheduled to perform on Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady, which sets sail on July 5 through July 15. “I am shocked. The Atlantis cruise I am performing on next week has been banned from entering Turkey,” she wrote. “A ship — a magnificent ship — full of gay men. And me. Denied entry to Turkey simply because of who is on board.” LuPone continued, “I am furious, but I am sailing, as the ship will make other ports of call. I am ready to perform for all the wonderful men on this Atlantis cruise, who deserve so much better than this.” Rich Campbell, president and CEO of Atlantis Events, told CNN he was stunned by Turkey’s decision. “It’s pretty stunning, to be honest. Music artists mourned the death of Clive Davis, one of the industry’s most powerful figures who launched or resurrected the careers of artists ranging from Whitney Houston to Carlos Santana. Santana on Monday called Davis “a visionary.” Barry Manilow said music wasn’t just business to Davis, “it was family.” Michael Bublé said the music executive “believed in people and their dreams.” Patti Smith thanked Davis for a half century of “love and support.” Davis died Monday in his Manhattan apartment. On June 14, a group of legendary performers will take the stage in New York to celebrate art and music—and fight “an authoritarian regime that is rapidly taking over our democracy,” says organizer Jane Fonda. “Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment” will feature performances and appearances by Fonda, Bette Midler, Joy Reid, Patti Smith, Rufus Wainwright, Sasha Allen, and Broadway Inspirational Voices. Fonda’s Committee for the First Amendment, a free speech advocacy group, is organizing the star-studded fundraising event to bring attendees—and viewers at home—together in celebration of “the freedoms guaranteed by our First Amendment, of speech, religion, press, assembly, and protest. Patti Hansen’s family helped the iconic supermodel ring in her 70th birthday on Tuesday with touching tributes in celebration of the major milestone. Patti’s husband of 42 years, Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards, took to Instagram to share several throwback photos of the happy couple throughout the years. “Happy birthday, Patricia. Enthu­si­asts of the work of every­one from Janis Joplin to Arthur C. Clarke to Miloš For­man to Dylan Thomas to Mark Twain may not know that they, too, there­by enjoy an indi­rect con­nec­tion to that New York insti­tu­tion, which has stood on West 23rd Street since its con­struc­tion in 1884. Patti Hansen proved that she was still supermodel material in a rare appearance for the wife of Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards. The 69-year-old, who rarely updates her social media, showcased her athletic figure in a photo posted to Instagram, as she wore a patterned sun-safe outfit.  Patti stood by the beach with her hands on her hips as she modeled the blue, black and white long-sleeved shirt and matching pants.
