On more than one occasion, I’ve embarrassed myself by brewing coffee outdoors and spilling a freshly made cup onto an unsteady camping table. Not to mention, light packers would scoff at the weight of my coffee gear — a necessary sacrifice to avoid instant coffee. Savoring high-quality joe in the open air feels special, though, hence why I bring a coffee-making setup every time. Finally, I’ve found the easiest option: The MiiR Pourigami. Put together, the pyramid-shaped dripper fits atop any trusty travel mug. Taken apart, this Miir Pourigami resembles a card holder, slim enough to fit into my pants pocket. Celyn Jones knew he wanted to make a film about Henry Paget, 5th Marquess of Anglesey, a long time ago. “I think I knew the picture before I knew the story,” begins Jones about the British peer, whose most famous photograph shows a man in an extravagant, embellished gown and an elaborate winged headpiece atop his head. He is draped across a chair, jewels on his hand glistening, and fur rugs lining the floor. “I just assumed it was some sort of an album cover or glam rock image — it was Bowie-esque, a Marc Bolan-esque picture. The Violinist, a hand-drawn feature from Singapore, has won the Cristal Award for best film at the 2026 Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The period drama from directors Ervin Han and Raúl García traces the history of Singapore and Malaya, from 1929 to the present, as it follows two childhood friends, both gifted violinists, who lives are torn apart by war and the Japanese occupation. The film is the first Singaporean feature to play in competition at Annecy. The Violinist was produced by Singapore’s Robot Playground Media, with TV ON Producciones in Spain, and Italy’s Altri Occhi. France tv distribution is handling worldwide sales. Annecy’s Jury Award, as well as the Audience prize, went to Iron Boy, the debut feature from French animator Louis Clichy, who previously worked on Pixar hits Wall-E and Up. The film follows Christophe, an 11-year-old boy growing up on a struggling farm in rural France in the 1980s. With the longer hours in the day coming in, the weekend is the perfect time to settle down in front of the sofa and watch incredible dramas that might have initially passed us by. Back in 2021, Netflix released The Dig, a 1930s-set period drama that focused on a real-life archaeological dig in Sutton Hoo, Suffolk, ahead of the start of World War II. The movie itself is based on the 2007 book of the same name by John Preston. A simple synopsis for the movie reads: “An excavator and his team discover a wooden ship from the Dark Ages while digging up a burial ground on a woman’s estate.” Ahead of its release, The Dig attracted controversy over the decision to cast Carey Mulligan as Edith Pretty. At the time of the film’s setting, Edith would have been in her 50s, whereas Carey was in her mid-30s. The character was originally supposed to be played by Nicole Kidman, but she pulled out due to a scheduling conflict, so some were dismayed that an actress …

Over the span of five days in 2021, however, Edman says the agency changed its stance to ‘neutral.’  Then in September of 2024 during a private briefing between intelligence officials and members of Congress, Rep.
