July 1 : Cigna said on Wednesday its health services unit Evernorth has launched a new AI-powered specialty pharmacy program to reduce the time it takes to process prescriptions and improve customer service. The program, called Pharmacy Forward, is supported by a $100 million investment through 2028, the health insurer said. The news sent shares of Hims & Hers Health Inc. soaring by more than 40% in Monday morning trading. Under the terms of the newly announced deal, Hims will begin offering both oral and injectable versions of popular GLP-1 drugs, including Wegovy and Ozempic, on its platform later this month. Crucially, Hims has also committed to ceasing all advertising for compounded GLP-1 drugs, both on its platform and in its marketing efforts. The resolution comes after a period of contention. A security lapse by one of India’s largest pharmacy chains allowed outsiders to gain full administrative control of its platform, exposing customer order data and sensitive drug-control functions, TechCrunch has exclusively learned. The issue affected DavaIndia Pharmacy, the pharmacy arm of Zota Healthcare, which operates a large network of retail outlets across India. Security researcher Eaton Zveare told TechCrunch that he discovered the flaw after identifying insecure “super admin” application programming interfaces on DavaIndia’s website and privately shared details with Indian cybersecurity authorities. The bug is now fixed, and Zveare disclosed his findings. The exposure comes as Zota Healthcare rapidly scales DavaIndia Pharmacy’s retail business. The Gujarat-headquartered company operates more than 2,300 DavaIndia stores across India, including 276 new outlets announced in January, and plans to add another 1,200 to 1,500 over the next two years. Zveare told TechCrunch that the flaw stemmed from insecure admin interfaces, which allowed unauthenticated users to create “super admin” accounts with high privileges. Amazon Pharmacy to Offer Same-Day Delivery to 2,000 More Communities in 2026

Amazon announced on Wednesday that it plans to add about 2,000 new areas to its list of same-day prescription delivery locations. This would expand the delivery service to over 4,500 locations by the end of the year.  Amazon Pharmacy has been around since 2020 and currently delivers to all 50 states and Washington, DC. Its medication delivery service serves as an alternative for those who need timely medication and live in underserved areas or lack proximity to a brick-and-mortar pharmacy.  The expansion will now include areas in Idaho and Massachusetts affected by pharmacy closures and other limited access to care. “By combining our pharmacy expertise with our logistics network, we’re removing critical barriers and helping patients start treatment faster — setting a new standard for accessible, digital-forward pharmacy care,” John Love, vice president of Amazon Pharmacy, said in a statement.
