How Indaver pioneers PFAS destruction
Complex challenges like PFAS require systemic solutions. Indaver, a leading European waste manager, effectively combines prevention, containment, and treatment to sustainably destroy forever chemicals and protect people and the environment. PFAS are everywhere: from raincoats to cosmetics, from pesticides to technical textiles. Even our tap water isn’t spared. But although PFAS have been at the centre of public debate for several years, progress toward a broad, EU-wide production ban has stalled or been scaled back. The main reason: for many applications, such as medical devices and heat pumps, there is no drop-in substitute available to easily transition to PFAS-free alternatives at short notice. To illustrate, in Belgium alone, more than 8,000 tonnes of PFAS are still used every year.
