Prince Harry and Meghan Markle share kiss on the lips in unseen moment from Australia trip

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle shared a sweet kiss on the lips during their Australia tour last week – but the moment almost went unnoticed.

Following their trip, the Duchess of Sussex, shared behind-the-scenes footage of their time Down Under, including unseen moments from the “Her Best Life” retreat over the weekend, held at the InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach.

The Duchess took part in an onstage Q&A session in front of guests, who had reportedly paid up to $3,199 for the experience, with a supportive Harry cheering her on from the audience.

In a reel shared by Meghan on Instagram, the couple was seen exchanging a smooch on the lips, before walking onto the stage together holding hands. The video was set to Love Is in the Air by John Paul Young, with a caption reading: “Australia, you have our hearts.”

The montage also featured several other loved-up candid moments, including a snippet of the Sussexes’ date night where Harry tucked into a succulent-looking steak.

In a second, Meghan showed a glimpse of their luxurious accommodation as she was seen getting ready at a marble vanity in front of a picturesque sea view with the Australian sun setting softly behind her. In another, the couple enjoyed a stunning coastal hike with their friend, Soho House founder Markus Anderson, who accompanied them on the trip.

Rules around royals kissing

Members of the royal family rarely kiss or show public displays of affection (PDA) – so, when they do, it always makes a moment to remember. There are no official rules around kissing or PDA in public, but royals do usually keep it to a minimum.

These days, royal etiquette is more relaxed than in years prior, so while still a relatively rare sight, the royals are generally more likely to share sweet moments of love and affection in public.

Royal kisses are most commonly seen on the balcony following a wedding: Prince William and Kate’s kiss in 2011 has become one of the most iconic royal smooches of all time, and the European royals also follow the tradition. Princess Eugenie and her new husband Jack Brooksbank also shared a rare public kiss following their 2018 nuptials.

Prince Harry and Meghan are no strangers to public kissing and often do so to show support for one another.

A whirlwind tour to Australia

Last week, they took part in a series of “philanthropic”, “charity”, and “private” engagements across Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney, where Meghan attended the “best life” retreat.

During her appearance, the former Suits actress spoke candidly about the challenges of her public life, describing it as “very hard” at times. She also reflected on the “amazing moments” she has experienced since meeting Harry in 2016, including their marriage and the arrival of their two children, while acknowledging the intense scrutiny she has faced.

Meghan later shared incredibly sweet footage of the welcome she and Harry received on their return to Montecito from their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who had strung up a “Welcome Home” banner.
