The British actor, 36, played the lead role in eight film adaptations of JK Rowling’s best-selling book series, between 2001 and 2011. During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Radcliffe was presented with bracketed choices between pairs of Harry Potter films, which were then whittled down to an overall winner: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part Two, a film he described as “my favourite of all of them”. Bill Nighy transforms into Harry Potter character in audiobook clip

Love Actually star Bill Nighy is no stranger to Harry Potter, having played Minister for Magic Rufus Scrimgeour in 2010 film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Now, he is returning to the franchise, in the newly released full-cast audio adaptation of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince – and Radio Times has got an exclusive clip. The clip sees Nighy take on his new role as Professor Slughorn, potions master at Hogwarts during the final two books of the series, played by Jim Broadbent in the films. It also features Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Jaxon Knopf as Harry Potter and Cush Jumbo as the narrator. Both book readers and fans of the films will recognise the clip as the scene in which Dumbledore and Harry go to Professor Slughorn’s house, where he is disguised as an armchair in a dilapidated room. Ralph Fiennes has shared who he’d want to see play Lord Voldemort in HBO‘s upcoming series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Fiennes recently appeared on BBC’s The Claudia Winkleman Show and was asked for his opinion on who should take over the villain role, which has not yet been cast. “I remember being asked the question, ‘Would I reprise the part?’ This was some years ago. And I said, ‘Yes, I’d love to,’” he said. “But then nothing’s happened, and I think that ship has sailed.” Though he finally admitted, “I’ll tell you, Tilda Swinton was mentioned somewhere as being a contender, and I think she would be amazing.” Swinton is known for her Oscar-winning performance in Michael Clayton and for her portrayal of the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia.
