The move came at a hearing in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, where Judge Arun Subramanian had warned a prosecutor, Sean Buckley, that he would quash the subpoenas at the request of The Times if the DOJ did not withdraw them, according to MS NOW. “Why isn’t that the right outcome?” Subramanian asked Buckley, who argued at length that the subpoenas were lawfully issued. NHTSA is now demanding a Tesla internal document titled “Radar Saves Us” as part of its investigation into “Full Self-Driving” crashes in low-visibility conditions. The request is buried in a new 24-part information demand sent to Tesla on July 2, and it points the probe straight at the decision that started all of this: Tesla removing radar from its cars. The letter, signed by Office of Defects Investigation Director Tanya Topka and addressed to Tesla field quality director Eddie Gates, is the formal information request inside EA26002, the Engineering Analysis NHTSA upgraded the FSD visibility probe into back in March. An Engineering Analysis is the last investigative step before the agency either closes a case or pushes for a recall. The investigation covers roughly 3.2 million Tesla vehicles that have ever run FSD in the US. It’s tied to nine crashes where FSD was engaged in reduced visibility, including one fatality and one injury. Joshua Kerry, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (July 20). He was first arrested on suspicion of murder on July 11, two days after the 78-year-old Reform UK spokeswoman was found dead at her home in Devon. On July 13, he was additionally arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. An inquest will be opened into the death of Ann Widdecombe on Tuesday morning. The former MP and MEP was found dead at her home in Haytor on Dartmoor, Devon, on July 9 having suffered “serious injuries”. A 28-year-old white British man who was arrested on suspicion of her murder on July 11 is still being questioned by detectives. A hearing is scheduled at County Hall in Exeter at 10am on Tuesday to open an inquest into her death. Miss Widdecombe, 78, was found dead at her home in Haytor after what police believe was a “targeted attack” the day before she was found. Two days after the murder arrest, counter-terrorism police took over the investigation and said the man had been further arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism. Terrorism laws allow a suspect to be held for up to seven days in the first instance, with investigators permitted to apply for time extensions up to 14 days in total. Police have launched an appeal for information after a woman was declared dead in a street in Newport city centre. Officers, including specially trained firearms officers, attended a report of an altercation outside a property in St Vincent Road, Newport, in the early hours of Saturday, July 18, Gwent Police said. A woman, who has not been formally identified, was sadly pronounced dead by paramedics a short distance away, near Chepstow Road. Her family has been informed, the force added. President Donald Trump’s longtime teleprompter operator is under investigation by federal regulators in connection with bets they allegedly made on the prediction market platform Kalshi related to statements made by Trump. The operator allegedly made more than $90,000 in profits on the trades, but most of that money was frozen by Kalshi after the bets on the platform’s “Mentions” market were flagged as suspicious, according to the company. NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) – A key cooperating witness in the ⁠U.S. ⁠government’s criminal investigation into Turkish state-run lender ⁠Halkbank’s alleged role in helping Iran evade sanctions avoided prison time at his sentencing hearing on Tuesday.  Reza ​Zarrab was sentenced to time served by U.S. District Judge Richard Berman at a hearing in Manhattan federal court. Prosecutors had urged the judge to ‌take his cooperation with their case into ‌account in determining his punishment.
