The British actor, 36, played the lead role in eight film adaptations of JK Rowling’s best-selling book series, between 2001 and 2011. During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Radcliffe was presented with bracketed choices between pairs of Harry Potter films, which were then whittled down to an overall winner: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part Two, a film he described as “my favourite of all of them”. The top three news media companies in the UK by revenue saw turnover increase in their latest full-year accounts, Press Gazette’s latest top 50 ranking shows. Collectively the top 50 increased their revenue by £1.1bn compared with last year, representing a 3.1% increase reporting £37.5bn versus £36.3bn. Most of the top UK media companies (29 out of 50) grew their revenue in their most recent accounts, while 17 saw decline and four remained stagnant. RELX, the BBC and Informa topped the list with highest revenues, all posting more than £3.5bn. Most of the accounts (30) cover the 2024 financial year, a period which saw inflation average 2.5% while gross domestic product (GDP, a key measure of the economy) grew by 0.4%. The top apps for engagement retention: The Times and The Sunday Times, Daily Mail and Mail+ The Daily Mail and The Times have the most engaged app users of any newsbrand in the UK, according to data from Ipsos iris. But in terms of overall popularity, BBC News remains the biggest app in the UK with 15 million users followed by Apple News on 14 million. Google’s smartphone-based aggregation tool Discover may well be the most popular news app in the UK but does not appear in the Ipsos ranking because it is part of the suite of Google products embedded in most mobile devices (not a separate app). Samsung News, the default news app on Samsung devices since April 2025, does not yet appear in Ipsos Iris data. Daily Mail’s newspaper editions app, Mail+, recorded the most average minutes spent per person (758 minutes) followed by The Times and Sunday Times (539 minutes).
