Delta passenger kicked off flight and arrested after she’s accused of refusing to end phone call

A passenger was kicked off a Delta Air Lines flight and arrested after she allegedly refused to end a phone call. On Monday, Delta crew members asked Shannon Marie Harris, 46, to end her phone call, but she allegedly refused. The plane was preparing to depart from Miami, bound for Atlanta. Harris reportedly became belligerent, according to an arrest report obtained by WSB-TV. At that point, the pilot ordered the plane to return to the gate, where Harris was asked to leave the plane. She allegedly refused, at which point the flight crew asked all of the passengers to exit the aircraft. According to the police report, Harris tried to exit with the other passengers but was arrested and charged with misdemeanor trespassing. In a video taken by one of the passengers that was shared with Fox 5 Atlanta, other passengers can be heard asking Harris to “please be considerate” and to leave the plane. Norway joins Poland in refusing to host Russians and Belarusians

April 21 : The Norwegian Swimming Federation will not host international championships as long as World Aquatics (WA) allows athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete, the country’s governing body President Cato Bratbakk told Reuters. The decision marks a deepening rift within the international swimming community after WA lifted neutrality restrictions last week.  “Our position is clear. We will not host any championships as long as Russian and Belarusian senior and junior competitors have full access, entry rights, and are permitted to use their flags and national anthems,” Bratbakk said on Tuesday. Russian and Belarusian athletes were permitted to compete in WA events with their respective uniforms, flags and anthems since April 14. The global governing body added that Russia and Belarus would resume full membership rights. Competitors from Russia and Belarus were banned from international sporting events following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which was launched in part from Belarusian territory. Norway is now seeking a broader regional boycott of hosting duties. “We are scheduled to meet with Nordic colleagues next week, …

People are refusing transfusions from donors vaccinated against covid

People are refusing transfusions from donors vaccinated against covid

Donated blood usually comes from anonymous volunteers, and is screened for safety Getty Images A hospital in the US has had to concede to an unusual request from patients requiring blood transfusions: that they come from donors who haven’t been vaccinated against covid-19. This has led to delays in treatments that caused one individual to experience a life-threatening reaction. “These requests were often driven by misinformation about vaccine safety and the blood supply, rather than evidence-based transfusion concerns,” says Jeremy Jacobs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. “I think one of the most important broader points is that the community blood supply is already highly regulated and carefully screened, and there is no evidence that requesting unvaccinated blood improves transfusion safety.” Jacobs and his colleagues analysed blood donations that took place at the Vanderbilt centre between January 2024 and December 2025. They found that 15 patients – or their caregivers – had asked for directed donations, when blood is donated by a chosen person, often a relative, rather than being taken from a …

Trump Calls UK 'Tragic' For Refusing To Drill Oil In North Sea

(AP Photo/Evan Vucci, File) Donald Trump has slammed the UK for refusing to drill for more oil in the North Sea in a fresh takedown of the government’s “tragic” decision. In a post on TruthSocial, the president took aim at Labour’s focus on renewable energy, writing: “Europe is desperate for Energy, and yet the United Kingdom refuses to open North Sea Oil, one of the greatest fields in the World. Tragic!!! “Aberdeen should be booming. Norway sells its North Sea Oil to the U.K. at double the price. “They are making a fortune. U.K., which is better situated on the North Sea for purposes of energy than Norway, should, DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! It is absolutely crazy that they don’t… AND, NO MORE WINDMILLS!” The US president keeps finding new ways to criticise Britain after prime minister Keir Starmer decided not to let American forces use UK military bases to launch pre-emptive strikes on Iran …

Library Director Fired After Refusing To Remove Hundreds Of LGBT Books From Kids’ Section

Library Director Fired After Refusing To Remove Hundreds Of LGBT Books From Kids’ Section

When are these people going to learn to just leave the kids alone? A Tennessee library board has voted 8-3 to remove its top librarian, Luanne James, after she refused to carry out an order to relocate hundreds of LGBT-themed books, Critical Race Theory (CRT) and feminist propaganda books from the children’s section of six Rutherford County branch libraries. James was initially ordered to relocate books containing far-left ideology from the juvenile/children’s sections to the adult sections of libraries.  The board cited concerns that the books promoted “gender confusion,” contained LGBT themes/characters, sexual themes, feminist topics, DEI, social justice and related content. The decision stemmed from a broader state review of thousands of materials prompted by a Tennessee Secretary of State letter and federal guidance on gender-related content.  Actions within red states to transfer woke propaganda out of children’s spaces in school libraries and public libraries accelerated after viral complaints by parents who have read some of the horrific selections out loud at board meetings across the country.  Activist librarians have become a plague, disregarding the age …

It’s not just vaccines — parents are refusing other routine preventive care for newborns

It’s not just vaccines — parents are refusing other routine preventive care for newborns

One day at an Idaho hospital, half the newborns Dr. Tom Patterson saw didn’t get the vitamin K shots that have been given to babies for decades to prevent potentially deadly bleeding. On another recent day, more than a quarter didn’t get the shot. Their parents wouldn’t allow it. “When you look at a child who’s innocent and vulnerable — and a simple intervention that’s been done since 1961 is refused — knowing that baby’s going out into the world is super worrisome to me,” said Patterson, who’s been a pediatrician for nearly three decades. Doctors across the nation are alarmed that skepticism fueled by rising anti-science sentiment and medical mistrust is increasingly reaching beyond vaccines to other proven, routine preventive care for babies. A recent study in the Journal of the American Medical Assn., which analyzed more than 5 million births nationwide, found that refusals of vitamin K shots nearly doubled between 2017 and 2024, from 2.9% to 5.2%. Other research suggests that parents who decline vitamin K shots are much more likely to …

Why ‘instrumental’ members of the Pussycat Dolls are refusing to take part in the reunion

The Pussycat Dolls announced they were rejoining for a special 53-date world tour and would be releasing new music ahead of their first performance since they reunited for an album and string of shows in 2019.  Despite their news, fans were left disappointed when they realised the much-loved American girl band’s latest hurrah would only feature three of its six members: Nicole Scherzinger, 47, Kimberly Wyatt, 44, and Ashley Roberts, 44.  The trio’s new tour, PCD Forever, will see them play 53 shows across the UK, US and Europe, starting in California in June. They will also perform their new single, ‘Club Song’, which was released on 12 March.  Landing in the UK on 29 September, the trio will play their first English show in Birmingham, followed by dates in Nottingham, Leeds, Glasgow and other cities, before ending at The O2 in London on 13 October.  However, despite the band’s comeback, three members were left out of the new era’s lineup, and some of them expressed their feelings on social media.  Carmit Bachar, 51, Jessica …
