The 41-year-old added in an Instagram post that she had no regrets and that her anterior cruciate ligament rupture and other past injuries were not linked to the fall in her bid to win the gold, which went to her U.S. teammate Breezy Johnson. Regret is the point-down inner critic’s favorite sport. Regret is lamenting about past choices that we now consider to have been mistakes. Since the past can’t be wiped out, neither can regrets about it. Our work is not to get rid of regrets but to handle them mindfully and usefully. We can begin by realizing that what happened in the past does not have to be taken as the whole picture. Regrets serve to keep us stuck because the inner critic mutters, “You have made so many mistakes because you are inadequate and unskilled. You are too messed up to work anything out or try something new.” This is, of course, the voice of fear, the king of all regrets. Once we accept the given that we all make mistakes, fail to act, and impulsively and unwisely choose, regret is no longer about shame. It is about saying yes to our human predicament with all its intriguing intrigues. We may be looking at the givens of all human experiences and thinking they refer only to …

Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit said Friday, February 6, she “deeply regretted” her friendship with convicted US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the embarrassment it has caused the royal family. “I deeply regret my friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. It is important for me to apologize to all of those whom I have disappointed… I also regret the situation I have put the royal family in, especially the king and queen,” she said in a statement from the palace. Microsoft founder Bill Gates broke his silence regarding his close ties to Jeffrey Epstein on Wednesday, saying he “regrets” ever knowing the international sex trafficker. Gates appeared in photographs in prior batches of released Epstein files, but is mentioned by name in the latest release. In Emails from 2013, Epstein claims that Gates got an STD from unnamed “Russian girls” and had requested antibiotics to give to his ex-wife, Melinda French Gates, “surreptitiously.” Gates’ office flatly rejected the claims in a statement on Friday. LOS ANGELES: Los Angeles Olympics chief Casey Wasserman apologised on Saturday (Jan 31) after decades-old flirty emails between him and Jeffrey Epstein’s jailed former girlfriend appeared in a fresh cache of files related to the investigation into the late convicted sex offender. Wasserman, the chairman of the organizing committee for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, said his 2003 email exchanges with Ghislaine Maxwell – who is serving a 20-year sentence for trafficking underage girls for Epstein – took place before her crimes were known. “I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light,” Wasserman, 51, said in a statement obtained by AFP.
