Liverpool’s Slot accepts blame after worst loss of his Anfield reign

LIVERPOOL, England :Liverpool manager Arne Slot admitted responsibility after his side suffered their joint-heaviest ever home Premier League defeat, a 3-0 humiliation by Nottingham Forest, that left the champions in 11th place and their title chase in tatters. Murillo, Nicolo Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White scored for Forest, who were languishing in the drop zone before kickoff, to inflict Liverpool’s sixth defeat in their last seven league games. “Another big disappointment,” Slot told reporters. “We started off quite well for the first half an hour. We conceded the 1-0, and we weren’t able to play the way we did in the first half hour.” The Dutchman conceded his tactical tweaks failed to spark a response. “If things go well or things go bad, it’s my responsibility. We weren’t able to create enough. I tried to adjust a few things, but it didn’t work out. We were unable to score a goal,” the Dutchman said. Forest’s Savona scored inside the first minute of a second-half collapse by the home side. “Of course, it was damaging. It was …

Clay Seal of Important Government Official from the Reign of Josiah Discovered – OpentheWord.org

King Josiah listening as a scribe reads from the Book of DeuteronomyCredit: Wikipedia, Public Domain Over the years, archaeologists in Israel have discovered signet rings worn by the politically connected and the rich. These were used to impress a person’s mark, either in wax or clay, on important documents and items to confirm ownership. While the rings are often discovered, finding the clay or wax seal in which these images were impressed is rare. This is because they are delicate and easily destroyed or damaged. But earlier this month, archaeologist Mordechai Ehrlich discovered a clay seal impression that was in remarkable shape, the Temple Mount Institute reports. According to the Institute, the words written on the seal in ancient Hebrew dated to the sixth and seventh century read: “’Belonging to Yed[a‛]yah (son of) Asayahu.’  – ליד[ע]יה (בן) עשיהו“ This caught everyone’s attention because the Bible describes a person with the same name. He was an important government official during the reign of Judah’s Godly king, Josiah. Josiah had ordered the Jewish Temple repaired after his father, King …

Protect your privacy during Trump’s reign: A hacker’s guide to being cyber-safe

Protect your privacy during Trump’s reign: A hacker’s guide to being cyber-safe

This article was originally published on The Conversation. Protecting individual privacy from government intrusion is older than American democracy. In 1604, the attorney general of England, Sir Edward Coke, ruled that a man’s house is his castle. This was the official declaration that a homeowner could protect himself and his privacy from the king’s agents. That lesson carried into today’s America, thanks to our Founding Fathers’ abhorrence for imperialist Great Britain’s unwarranted search and seizure of personal documents. They understood that everyone has something to hide, because human dignity and intimacy don’t exist if we can’t keep our thoughts and actions private. As citizens in the digital age, that is much more difficult. Malicious hackers and governments can monitor the most private communications, browsing habits and other data breadcrumbs of anyone who owns a smartphone, tablet, laptop or personal computer. President-elect Donald Trump’s criticism of encryption technology and interest in expanding government surveillance have technologists and civil libertarians deeply concerned. As an ethical hacker, my job is to help protect those who are unable, or …
