The staggering amount of money snowboarder Chloe Kim made by 15 to allow parents to retire revealed

It’s not just Chloe Kim reaping the benefits of her snowboarding career. The two-time Olympic gold medalist, 25, was only four years old when she began snowboarding, and spent her third and fourth grade years training in Geneva, Switzerland, before returning to California and training at Mammoth Mountain. By the time she was seven years old, her dad Jong Jin Kim quit his job so he could support her budding snowboarding career, and by the time she was 15 years old, she was able to retire both her parents. © Getty ImagesChloe at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party Chloe, speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, first recalled moving out of her parents home when she was 18 years old. “Not because — like I love my parents to death — I just liked my own space. And they are so busy all the time, it stressed me out.” “Also my parents don’t work, I was able to retire both of them by the time I was 15,” she said. Chloe’s father previously …

Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Chloe Kim shared an emotional message on social media. The snowboarder posted a sentimental carousel featuring herself snowboarding as a little girl, herself as a baby alongside her parents, and lastly her childhood passport ID picture, as she lovingly paid tribute to her family’s “sacrifice.” Chloe has arrived in Italy for the 2026 Olympics and she expressed what her younger self would have thought of the life-changing moment. © Instagram She captioned the post: “I can’t believe I’ve arrived in Milan to represent my country at the Olympic Games for the third time. If you told little me that, she wouldn’t believe you. This one feels especially meaningful for so many reasons.” The athlete went on to reveal the deep gratitude that she has for her family. Nick Baumgartner, 44-year-old Olympic snowboarder, is ‘the old guy you shouldn’t count out’

Nick Baumgartner, 44-year-old Olympic snowboarder, is ‘the old guy you shouldn’t count out’

When the topic of his age comes up, Nick Baumgartner smiles. He knows the questions are coming. For the past four years, it’s all anyone wants to talk to him about. Baumgartner, a Michigan native, enters the Milan Cortina Olympics as one of the world’s best at snowboard cross, an event where competitors jostle for position over a series of banked turns, speed bump-like hills and jumps, all trying to reach the finish line the fastest. Four years ago, Baumgartner won an Olympic gold medal in mixed snowboard cross with U.S. teammate Lindsey Jacobellis. But the fascination with Baumgartner isn’t just about his talent. It’s about how he’s maintained it at an age that’s considered, by the standards of snowboarding, ancient. When he won gold four years ago in Beijing, he was 40. Next month in Italy, while competing at his fifth Olympics, Baumgartner is trying to do it again at 44. He’s old enough to have a son who has graduated from college and a spot on the U.S. national team for 21 years …

Damian Dovarganes/AP hide caption toggle caption Damian Dovarganes/AP WASHINGTON — Ryan Wedding, a former Olympic snowboarder from Canada who was among the FBI’s top fugitives and faces charges related to multinational drug trafficking and the killing of a federal witness, has been arrested in Mexico, top Justice Department officials said Friday. Wedding, 44, is accused of running a drug trafficking operation, and officials say he orchestrated several killings to further the drug crimes. He was on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, and authorities had offered a $15 million reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed Wedding’s arrest in social media posts. Patel said Wedding was being transported …

Ryan James Wedding, a Former Olympic Snowboarder —Turned America’s Most Wanted— Has Been Arrested By the FBI

Wedding was first incarcerated in 2008 at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, where, according to Kalina, he began forging connections and absorbing lessons from seasoned foreign traffickers. “We did hear comments he’d make about meeting interesting people and learning things,” says Kalina, who listened to phone calls Wedding made to the outside world. After his conviction for conspiracy to traffic cocaine, Wedding was transferred to a federal prison in Texas. There, he met the man who would, more than a decade later, help bring about his downfall: Jonathan Acebedo-Garcia, a Colombian-Canadian with deep knowledge of the trade. Upon Wedding’s release in December 2011, the FBI alleges that he formally established his trafficking organization and installed Acebedo-Garcia as one of his most trusted operatives. Then, in 2024, Acebedo-Garcia appeared to vanish. Within Wedding’s organization, alarm bells went off. Word spread that he had been flipped by the FBI. He earned a new nickname: “the rat.” According to a US indictment, Wedding’s attorney, Deepak Paradkar—who often operated under the alias “cocaine lawyer”—advised that Wedding’s legal exposure would be …
