Skincare Meets Sweat: Why Sofia Richie, Kate Hudson, and Adriana Lima Are Working Out at BURN

Grind and glow! BURN founder Maria Chase is redefining the workout experience by merging high-intensity training with skincare-focused technology in a 45-minute session that leaves you sweaty and radiant. Her infrared-heated classes, enhanced with LED/NIR light therapy, have become a go-to for celebs like Sofia Richie, Kate Hudson, and Adriana Lima, all seeking that post-workout glow in more ways than one. “As biohacking, technology, and recovery awareness have come to the forefront, it became clear to me that combining them into one experience would be both efficient and effective,” Chase tells ET. Sofia Richie/Instagram “I think of it as biostacking, or blending a workout with longevity-focused modalities like infrared heat and medical grade light therapy to amplify results.” That layered approach carries into the classes themselves, where each format is built around high-intensity, low-impact exercises with minimal cardio, and room for modifications. “BURN45 is our foundational class, where we work through the entire body to build lean muscle and burn fat using heavier weights,” Chase explains. “ISOBURN is on the other end of the spectrum. …

Sofia Coppola taps the whimsy of ’90s Marc Jacobs

Sofia Coppola taps the whimsy of ’90s Marc Jacobs

Slumped into folding chairs inside his New York studio, renowned designer Marc Jacobs and his brand’s creative director, Joseph Carter, ponder the mood of Jacobs’ Spring 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Jacobs and Carter had spent days stacking wigs onto more wigs, playing with cartoonishly large shapes from head to toe, trying to see what beauty and accessories might look best with the collections’ oversized garments. Behind the camera, Jacobs’ friend and occasional creative collaborator, Sofia Coppola, asks whether they’re favoring a serious look, or something more eccentric — in line with Jacobs’ reputation. “We’re leaning towards entertainment,” Jacobs says, before a wry smile creeps onto his face. “And joy.” Fusing couture-level spectacle with crowd-pleasing performance has long been Jacobs’ M.O. Since his early days designing for Perry Ellis, fresh off a winning showcase at the Parsons School of Design’s end-of-term fashion show, Jacobs has relished throwing a wrench in the system. In the early ’90s, a distinct penchant for mischief and a grittily glamorous New York edge quickly earned Jacobs the moniker of fashion’s bad boy. …

Marc Jacobs and Sofia Coppola on Their Shared Punk Ethos and What Really Happened After His Perry Ellis Grunge Collection

Marc Jacobs and Sofia Coppola on Their Shared Punk Ethos and What Really Happened After His Perry Ellis Grunge Collection

Marc, having followed your career and having seen the documentary, I would consider you to be quite a forward-looking person. What was it like to have to step back and do a kind of retrospective of your own career at this point? Coppola: I do consider you to be a forward-looking person—or present, right? Jacobs: I try to be. It wasn’t intentional, but seeing the movie, I realized, through this last process of the last show, how inspired and how excited I was by the past and how it does come up for me repeatedly in whatever my present is. It was great to see them, especially the ’90s, like the X-Girl show. Coppola: I hadn’t thought about that time, so it was fun to revisit. Jacobs: It just took me back to that moment, how different life was then, and there were no smartphones. Coppola: It was just kind of looser and you’d run into people. Jacobs: Just being reminded of those memories feels kind of nice. Marc, there’s a point in the documentary …

Karla Sofía Gascón Trolls Timothée Chalamet Amid Opera, Ballet Backlash

Karla Sofía Gascón Trolls Timothée Chalamet Amid Opera, Ballet Backlash

The fallout from a misconstrued comment Timothée Chalamet recently made about keeping shared, in-person art experiences alive is coming to define the closing stretch of his best actor Oscar campaign, as fellow recent nominee-turned-pariah Karla Sofía Gascón is now weighing in on the controversy with her own humorous take. Chalamet, who has been promoting the hell out of his Oscar vehicle Marty Supreme this awards season, has swept up nearly every prize in his march toward what could be his first Academy Award win. But that campaign ubiquity may now be backfiring on the beloved actor after comments he made in conversation with Matthew McConaughey at a Variety and CNN town hall. The offending foot-in-the-mouth comment came while the actor was discussing the importance of cinemas and the collective experience of seeing films in theaters. At that point, Chalamet appeared to overstate the level of life support needed to keep ballet companies and opera productions afloat today, while also perhaps understating their popularity. “I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera, or things …

Museo Reina Sofía to Investigate Tourists’ Israeli Flag incident

Museo Reina Sofía to Investigate Tourists’ Israeli Flag incident

The Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid, one of Spain’s top art museums, said on Monday that it was seeking an investigation into a widely publicized incident involving visitors who came to the museum with Stars of David and Israeli flags. Video of the incident went viral after being published by Okdiario, a conservative Spanish publication. In the video, security officers appear to call for the removal of three women from the museum. As they begin the process of escorting the women out, one officer says that “some members of the public are being bothered” by these visitors. Related Articles Okdiario reported that before the incident, which the publication termed “racist harassment,” other visitors had shouted phrases such as “genocidal maniacs” at these women. The video, which runs nearly a minute and a half, does not show what preceded this incident. ARTnews could not independently confirm Okdiario’s account, which stated that the women were tourists from Israel. The incident was also covered by conservative Israeli outlets such as Ynetnews, which also reported that the women were …

Queen Letizia Shared Valentino Dresses With Her Mother-in-Law, Queen Sofia

A few of those garments were designed by renowned fashion designer Valentino Garavani, who died on Monday, January 19 at age 93. It has been nearly three years to the day that Queen Letizia was seen wearing a haute couture ensemble from the Queen Mother, designed by the Italian fashion icon, while attending a reception at the Royal Place in Madrid on Monday for the diplomatic corps accredited in Spain alongside her husband King Felipe. She wore a Valentino dress featuring a long, A-line forest green skirt with a pink and white sash at the waist and a sheer, wide-sleeved organza top adorned with large, pink floral embroidery. This gown previously belonged to Felipe’s mother, Queen Sofía, who last wore the look in 1977, the year of the collection, at Gymnich Castle on a state trip to Germany with her husband, King Juan Carlos. He abdicated the throne in 2014. Queen Sofia in the same outfit as her mother-in-law, …
