Maybe it’s the pixelated glow from the lights, the regularly revolving stream of information, or the knowledge that you’re about to sit back and let the rails take you to your destination. Sadly, that specific type of train lounge aesthetic is usually only found in the stations themselves. Not content to leave it at that, DIY YouTuber Jon Morris Smith recently designed a homebrew version of a departure board. The final result isn’t a cool-but-useless replica, either. Aalborg University is fostering innovation and collaboration in satellite technology through a multidisciplinary initiative that hopes to enhance its role in Europe’s space sector Aalborg University (AAU) is significantly scaling its role in Europe’s space ecosystem with the launch of a new multidisciplinary initiative, major infrastructure investments and the construction of Denmark’s largest satellite ground station. The coordinated effort, anchored around the newly established AAU Space Tech Center, marks a decisive step in positioning northern Denmark as a European hub for satellite technology, space communications and related disciplines such as robotics and autonomy. Tucked away along a quiet stretch of the Central line, you’ll find the quietest station on the entire London Underground. An entire world away from Bank, Liverpool Street and Oxford Circus on the same line, Roding Valley’s Tube link could easily be missed when walking past. The mini station on the border of East London and Essex served only 130,000 passengers in 2025. By comparison, some 63 million people tapped in and out of Tottenham Court Road during the same period, as it became Transport for London‘s busiest station. The lower passenger numbers reflect the slower pace of life enjoyed by many ex-Londoners who moved to Epping Forest decades ago, but some residents do not view the Tube station as reliable enough. “We usually walk to Woodford,” Eileen Player, 84, who previously worked for an insurance firm in Chancery Lane, told MyLondon. “You can’t rely on Roding Valley station too much as the trains only run every now and again. Commuters faced travel chaos on Friday after a bushfire near a rail line in east London forced a key station to shut. Stratford train and Tube station closed because of the fire, with Transport for London (TfL) reporting severe delays on the Elizabeth, Mildmay and Jubilee lines. Stratford is a major interchange station, running London Underground, London Overground, Docklands Light Railway and Elizabeth Line services. National Rail services also operate from the station. On Friday, London Fire Brigade (LFB) responded on social media to videos of a blaze near the train tracks and confirmed that firefighters were on the scene. The station was reopened on Friday night but passengers were told to expect delays to some services. LFB also used the fire to reiterate the risk of wildfires during the heatwave this weekend. The latest assessments reportedly showed the risk in London would grow from “elevated” to “extreme” from Saturday to Monday, driven by factors such as prolonged dry weather, heat and wind speed. The UK Government has approved a 20-year lifetime extension for Sizewell B power station, allowing the Suffolk nuclear plant to continue operating until 2055 while securing around 900 skilled jobs and maintaining one of Britain’s largest sources of low-carbon electricity. The agreement with EDF means Sizewell B power station will remain in service beyond its original 2035 closure date, continuing to supply reliable homegrown energy for around 2.5 million homes. Ministers say the decision will strengthen the UK’s energy security, reduce reliance on fossil fuels and help protect households and businesses from future energy price volatility. The extension forms part of the government’s wider nuclear strategy, which also includes backing Sizewell C and Britain’s first small modular reactors. Together, these investments are intended to expand clean electricity generation, support thousands of skilled jobs and reduce the long-term cost of the UK’s energy system. It’s about to go on sale in China with a semi-solid-state EV battery offering nearly 400 miles (610 km) of range, the industry’s first “Queen” makeup station, and a bunch of other premium extras for about $22,000. MG sets 07 launch date with semi-solid-state EV batteries China’s SAIC has already introduced a few vehicles equipped with semi-solid-state batteries. Last year, it launched the new MG4, deeming it the “world’s first mass-produced semi-solid-state electric vehicle.” Earlier this year, MG opened orders for the MG 4X, its first SUV to feature the new battery tech, starting at just 99,800 yuan ($14,700).
