Shark-inspired fashion is having a moment – shop the trend

Shark-inspired fashion is having a moment – shop the trend

Style has long yearned for the ocean. From Vivienne Westwood’s iconic shipwrecked collections to Jean Paul Gaultier’s nautical striped sailor tops, there’s certainly no shortage of maritime motifs in the grand fashion canon.  Likewise, what lurks beneath the waves has never failed to yield inspiration. Alexander McQueen’s spring/summer 2010 runway collection, Plato’s Atlantis, serves as the benchmark for underwater sartorial themes, inspiring other designers to follow suit. Think JW Anderson’s dolphin print tops, Iris Van Herpen’s technological jelly fish-esque concoctions and Burberry’s ethereal shell prints. Not forgetting Sardine Summer, which took Europe street style by storm last year.  Now, fashion has a new muse – and we’re equally as enthralled as we are somewhat baffled by it. Sharks have arisen from the depths as the new It-animal on the scene, peppering both clothing and accessories across the board. From beaded bags to classic Jaws merch, the widely-feared fish have taken on a whole new sartorial cachet in time for spring/summer 2026.  While it seems an unlikely pairing at first, this unexpected aesthetic makes perfect sense. Thanks to Dior, polka dot shoes are flirty spring trend we’re crushing on

Thanks to Dior, polka dot shoes are flirty spring trend we’re crushing on

Sick to death of polka dots? Unmoved by their whimsy girlishness and Scandi-approved allure? Well, you wouldn’t be alone. What emerged in 2025 as a playful, feminine fad quickly spiralled into full-blown micro-trend mania – with the hot spots coming to saturate both the runway and high street with serious gusto. However, you may have to wait a little while longer until these preppy polkas exit the scene – because according to Jonathan Anderson – they aren’t going anywhere.  The Irish designer has once again whipped up a sartorial storm, courtesy of his autumn/winter 2026 womenswear collection for Dior. His penchant for kitsch motifs translated beautifully from his Loewe tenure – ceramic lilypad-topped footwear, tutu skirts that culminated in trumpeted foxglove tendrils, silver-trimmed frog coin purses, unorthodox shape play and frothy layers of deconstructed lace coexisted alongside the iconic Bar Jacket silhouette, ornate lamé fabrics and gently-puffed balloon trousers. Yet, it was another whimsical design that piqued the interest of his loyal fashion following – polka dot pumps. Embossed with a petite brand logo along …

Can desert boots ever be chic? We fashion editors say yes – here’s how to style them

Can desert boots ever be chic? We fashion editors say yes – here’s how to style them

Anti-chic shoes are hot stuff. We’re talking stomp-worthy, platformed pillowy kicks that strike fear in the hearts of ballet pump lovers everywhere.  The past few seasons have placed ‘ugly-chic’ footwear front and centre of the style radar – with Margiela Tabi’s still reigning supreme alongside finger shoes, platform clogs, and leopard print Crocs. One silhouette we did not expect to bounce back with gusto? The humble desert boot. Characterised by a suede construction, a rounded toe, a crepe rubber base and an ankle length shape, desert boots have divided the fashion set since World War II, when soldiers wore them during desert campaigns.  © @deborabrosaDesert boots are perfect for festival season Inspired by the South African ‘velskoen’ boot, the design was later popularised by Clarks, whose Desert Trek and Desert Boot designs became iconic. Showcasing a rugged, earthy aesthetic that prioritised function over fashion, desert boots were adopted by the counterculture, becoming a staple piece among mod groups and within Jamaican reggae culture, a movement beloved by stars like Steve McQueen and Bob Dylan. Austin Butler Is Welcoming Muscle-Tee Season With Open (and Bare) Arms

Austin Butler Is Welcoming Muscle-Tee Season With Open (and Bare) Arms

If you were not already aware, Austin Butler is even more shredded than usual. Last year, the Oscar nominee started working with trainer Roy Chan to get yoked for his role in the movie Enemies, co-starring the equally jacked Jeremy Allen White. (Get this: They’re enemies.) Chan even posted a sweaty video of Butler training his absolute heart out on an Assault bike, rightfully sending the internet into a tizzy. Though Enemies wrapped filming last summer, Butler appears to have been keeping up with his high-octane fitness routine, as evidenced by his recent getup during a grocery-store run in Los Angeles. During his trip to the organic grocer Lassens Market in Los Feliz on Wednesday, Butler clutched a bottled Essentia water in a sweat-ready outfit: a raw-hemmed, faded-black muscle tank, dark Adidas track pants, and some not-so-sweat-ready sunglasses from Jacques Marie Mage. (We’re not sure what’s driving celebs wearing sub-$1,000 JMM eyewear when they’re getting a sweat sesh in, but it’s a thing.) Though it’s unclear whether or not Butler is currently training for any …

Brace yourself – wedge sneakers are back on the scene

Brace yourself – wedge sneakers are back on the scene

Fashion is inherently nostalgic. We often look back in order to look forward – it’s how trends are born. So far, 2026 has witnessed the return of the peacoat, Topshop’s epic comeback and the tutu skirt renaissance. There are even whispers of the skinny jean revival. Cue the Neyo hits and glimmering blue eyeshadow. The latest item to unearth itself from the sartorial archives? The wedge sneaker – one of the most divisive styles to emerge from the industry’s shoewear department. Let me take you back to 2012. French house Isabel Marant debuts the iconic Bekett Sneaker, defined by a suede exterior, an incorporated wedged heel, a high top silhouette and velcro-strap detailing. Within months, the kicks have been worn by stars such as Jennifer Lopez, Kendall Jenner, Lindsay Lohan and, perhaps most famously, Beyoncé – who sported a pair for her Love On Top music video. Zendaya even took to Instagram sporting an off-white pair, visible beneath a grainy, old-school Valencia Instagram filter.  © GettyLindsay Lohan wearing wedge sneakers in 2012 Considering Gen Z’s …

ÉTERNE Founder Chloé Bartoli Shares What to Keep (and Toss) for Your Spring 2026 Closet Cleanout

ÉTERNE Founder Chloé Bartoli Shares What to Keep (and Toss) for Your Spring 2026 Closet Cleanout

Spring cleaning just got way chicer.  Celebrity stylist Chloé Bartoli, who’s dressed everyone from Selena Gomez to Shay Mitchell and Miranda Kerr, knows exactly how to build an effortless, off-duty look. And with her brand ÉTERNE, she’s brought that same energy to everyday essentials for the rest of us. Now, she’s breaking down the only pieces that belong in your closet this spring, and how to part with the rest. When editing your wardrobe, Bartoli believes you can never have enough high-quality jeans, and she recently launched her core styles to reflect exactly that. ADRIAN MARTIN/ Courtesy of ÉTERNE “I’m a huge denim person. I wear it almost every day and have collected vintage Levi’s for years. It felt like a natural extension of ÉTERNE because it’s the ultimate essential,” she explains. The goal: jeans that fit like your go-to worn-in pair, without the hunt. “They should feel easy, like you’ve had them forever, but still hold you in the right places.” From there, the fashion expert’s uniform follows the same laidback philosophy. I’m a 5’11 fashion editor – these are the brands I’m loving for spring

I’m a 5’11 fashion editor – these are the brands I’m loving for spring

Being tall has its perks. Increased visibility at gigs, the ability to reach the top shelf in Tesco, the need to forgo the heels when you feel like it. However, there is one glaringly obvious downside to having height – the stress that comes with shopping for a new wardrobe. Finding clothes that fit like a glove is a constant battle. Mini dresses constantly threaten to reveal the undies, jeans rarely reach the ankles, and office-appropriate trousers end up looking like culottes. Not the desired effect for someone who prefers a baggier silhouette. It’s been a lifelong mission of mine to find brands that work for tall women. I’ll be honest, it’s the bane of my entire existence, actually.  Labels that offer ‘tall’ options are few and far between – and the items that are designed for lengthy ladies sell like hot cakes, making them incredibly difficult to come across. When it comes to trousers and jeans, many brands struggle to find the balance between still not being quite long enough and pooling around your …

Harry Styles Runs in New Balances and a Band Tee (and You Should, Too)

Harry Styles Runs in New Balances and a Band Tee (and You Should, Too)

Runners love to let other people know that they enjoy running. Case in point: Harry Styles chose Runner’s World as his publication of choice to promote his new album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. And well, when you’re as good of a runner as Styles is, then more power to you. The musician is quite the serious pavement pounder, having two marathons under his (running) belt. Last year, Styles ran both the Tokyo and Berlin marathons, the latter of which he did in just under three hours, an impressive feat for even the most elite runners. (For context, only about 5% of marathon finishers are able to clock in sub-three-hour times, and if we were able to do that, hell, we’d want to be on the cover of Runner’s World, too.) This weekend, Styles is set to hit Studio 8H for the second time, once again pulling double duty on Saturday Night Live as both host and musical guest. Given the week-long prep that goes into getting ready for the sketch comedy show, Styles …

I sourced these vintage Jimmy Choo boots from the 90s – and they’re just like Jennifer Aniston’s

I sourced these vintage Jimmy Choo boots from the 90s – and they’re just like Jennifer Aniston’s

It’s undeniable what a pair of simple, sleek black boots with a flirty kitten heel can do for your wardrobe. A true capsule staple, they’ve proven their staying power, and that’s exactly why investing in a quality pair is so worthwhile. This is where I always turn to vintage offerings and embark on my long, thrilling search. Enter: my Vinted treasure hunt. Since its founding in 1996, Jimmy Choo has been synonymous with the craftsmanship and timeless quality of footwear. The brand embodies high fashion while prioritising comfort and wearability. That’s why I was so excited when, mid-scroll through the light blue app, I was stopped in my tracks by a pair in pristine condition. Listed by stylist and designer reseller Eve Kelly, known on social media as @steezyy_steve_, they were a pair of black leather stiletto boots plucked from the archives of the late 90s. They sit just below the knee with a streamlined, fitted silhouette, featuring a zip-up design adorned with the brand’s logo, a flirty kitten heel, and a sultry pointed toe. …

How To Be a Better Walker

How To Be a Better Walker

For me, the most pleasant walking clothes are giveaway Gildan t-shirts that I picked up for free at some event, shin-length, Sandler-esque basketball shorts, and sneakers that are absolutely beat to hell but hug my feet better than the clean ones. For colder weather, designate a few hoodies, zip-ups, and beanies that you don’t mind getting lightly battered by the elements, and throw those on when you’ve got a walk-sized hole in your schedule. Then, you can get creative with the lower body accoutrements. Some people like shorts in any weather, maybe with some performance leggings underneath when it’s too chilly to have the gams fully out. Others prefer sweatpants or joggers, a perfectly acceptable choice for this style of walk, which is about physical and mental maintenance over getting a fit off. For sunny weather, you’re also going to need some sunglasses, preferably some that are well-worn and comfortable, so as to not be distracting. A baseball cap is the ultimate walk accessory, though, which serves many functions. The first is obviously to keep …
