US President Donald Trump has announced a 10% global tariff on all countries (Image: Getty) United States President Donald Trump has signed off on a 10% global tariff on “all countries” shortly after the Supreme Court struck down his reciprocal levies policy. Mr Trump’s “reciprocal tariffs” were imposed on most of the world in April 2025 under an emergency powers law,. The tariffs were overturned by the US Supreme Court on Friday, February 21, dealing a major blow to the Trump administration’s economic policy. Friday’s decision, approved by a 6-3 majority, found that a 1977 law did not give Mr Trump the power to impose tariffs without the approval of the US Congress.
