The best fake tan in the UK for a sunkissed, streak-free glow – tested | Beauty

The wise among us would never forgo our safe-sun protocol, but there’s no denying that many of us feel happier and healthier with a tan. The irresistible lure of sunkissed skin has long been a summer staple – and from tanning waters to wipes, instant tans to gradual tanning moisturisers, there are now more ways than ever to get a faux glow. There’s also been a growing demand for multitasking beauty products, so the newest fake tan formulas often add skincare benefits alongside the bronze. Self-tans infused with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and vitamin C hydrate, nourish and protect much like your usual body cream or facial serum. As with all skincare, there’s no one-size-fits-all; what works for you very much depends on your skin tone and type, not to mention the time you have to perfect your glow. While clear tanning waters and fast-drying mousses are great for developing a golden tan overnight, you can find …

Actor Romeo Tan nearly quit acting after being scolded by director on set

Actor Romeo Tan nearly quit acting after being scolded by director on set

Getting scolded by a director is nothing unusual in showbiz but for it to make the actor consider quitting acting? That’s a different story. In a recent interview, Singaporean actor Romeo Tan, who was joined by actress Carrie Wong, recalled the project in which he received the harshest criticism in his 16-year acting career. “I think it’s The Journey: Tumultuous Times,” said the 40-year-old, who played a villainous lawyer in the 2014 Mediacorp series. And you know it must have been bad when Wong, who was present that day, still remembers it vividly – even 11 years on. “Oh my god, I was there,” exclaimed the actress, who also had her breakout role as Tang Shui Mei in the series. Her performance as a newcomer earned her nominations for Best Supporting Actress and Best Newcomer at the Star Awards 2015. According to Wong, it was her very first day on set. Eager to learn, she had arrived early, hoping to observe and pick up pointers. “I was so traumatised,” she added. “Because Romeo got scolded …

Does 987 DJ Germaine Tan own the most expensive car in Mediacorp? The Muttons think so

Does 987 DJ Germaine Tan own the most expensive car in Mediacorp? The Muttons think so

Vernon A kicked things off by asking if she thinks people judge her when she drives around. “Some more you’re so small, so people can barely see you, first of all. And they’re like, is a kid driving a Lambo? Do people do that?” he said. Chuckling, Tan replied: “I think they think ‘should I call the police? Is this illegal?’” She added: “I’m going to get slammed for saying this. I feel like it’s quite an inconspicuous car.” Ang was quick to question that. “What do you mean?” he asked, while Vernon A echoed the sentiment, pointing out that “it makes a lot of noise”, given that it’s a Lamborghini with a loud engine. “It’s not inconspicuous, my dear,” he told her. Inconspicuous for a Lamborghini… maybe? Ang then said: “I think you have the title of owning the most expensive car in Mediacorp.” Tan revealed she once spotted a Ferrari in the car park, though she didn’t know who it belonged to. “No, I think someone was just test driving and they just …

Tan Tock Seng Hospital volunteers stay up all night to comfort elderly patients

“Most volunteer programmes that run during office hours or weekends are difficult for me to commit to,” said the Indian national, who has been in Singapore since 2008. “With Night Sitters, I’m able to volunteer on my days off, so it’s more manageable for me.”  The choice to be involved in eldercare is also a personal one. “I like to interact with seniors because they remind me of my parents back in India,” she told CNA Women. “Being with them makes me feel connected to my family. I also see this as a way to learn more about taking care of the elderly, which will help me prepare for when I need to care for my ageing parents.” Her father is 63 and a retired police sub-inspector while her 52-year-old mother is a homemaker. The early-morning slot is when most patients are awake and Kayalvizhi described it as “a very interactive shift”, talking to them and assisting with their needs. “Chatting with patients is my favourite part of volunteering,” said Kayalvizhi, a mum to two …

Exclusive: I got a spray tan from the Kardashians’ and Heidi Klum’s celebrity therapist and he told me all the secrets

When an invitation landed in my inbox for a spray tan with Jimmy Coco – the mastermind behind the bronzed glow of nearly every A-lister in Hollywood, from Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian to Heidi Klum, naturally, I jumped at the chance. Not only would I uncover the secrets behind their sun-kissed radiance, but I could also banish my winter uglies with a glow of my own. Based in Los Angeles, Jimmy radiates that warm, all-American energy from the moment you meet him. Perhaps it’s because he’s permanently bronzed to perfection – proof, if ever it were needed, that a tan instantly lifts anyone’s mood. As a devoted fan of bottled fake tan, it’s surprising that I’d never actually had a spray tan before. The moment I told Jimmy he’d be my first, he seemed almost more excited than I was. © maria.sarabiMy tan courtesy of Jimmy Coco Jimmy transformed the tanning world in 2003 with the launch of Los Angeles’ first mobile tanning service, bringing privacy, convenience, and red-carpet-level expertise directly to Hollywood’s inner …

Former Owners of TAN and L’Officiel Claim They are Owed Buyout Money

On December 10, Calvin Choi, chairman of Hong Kong–based AMTD Group, attended a fashion show at the London Stock Exchange marking the secondary listing of AMTD’s media and luxury subsidiary, The Generation Essentials Group (TGE). TGE, which owns The Art Newspaper and the iconic French fashion magazine L’Officiel, had debuted on the New York Stock Exchange six months earlier with another catwalk party. The glitzy London event, where models dressed in Vivienne Westwood posed for photographers, marked another milestone in AMTD’s rapid expansion into cultural assets. Related Articles But AMTD was parading those brands before investors in London and New York against a backdrop of lawsuits in France and Hong Kong brought by their former owners. The Jalou family, longtime owners of L’Officiel, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2021, and Russian publisher Inna Bazhenova, former owner of The Art Newspaper, claim they have not received full payment for their publications. L’Officiel was acquired for roughly $57 million, while The Art Newspaper appears to have been acquired for around $16–17 million. In TGE’s IPO filings …

Shanmugam, Tan See Leng defamation suits against Bloomberg to go to trial in April

SINGAPORE: Trial dates have been set for the defamation suits that Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam and Manpower Minister Tan See Leng filed against Bloomberg and one of its reporters, with hearings scheduled from Apr 7 to Apr 16, 2026, according to court records. The two ministers filed lawsuits on Jan 6, 2025, against Bloomberg and reporter Low De Wei over a Dec 12, 2024, article titled “Singapore Mansion Deals Are Increasingly Shrouded in Secrecy”, which focused on Good Class Bungalow (GCB) transactions in Singapore.  Mr Shanmugam and Dr Tan said the article, which mentioned both of them, was defamatory. They argued it falsely suggested they had taken advantage of a lack of transparency in property transactions to conduct their dealings in a non-transparent manner, and to hide their transactions from scrutiny, including over the possibility of money laundering. Correction orders under the Protection from Online Falsehoods and Manipulation Act (POFMA) were also issued to several entities on Dec 23, 2024, including Bloomberg and other outlets that reproduced the article in whole or in part. …

Never Ever After by Sue Lynn Tan

Never Ever After by Sue Lynn Tan

Sue Lynn Tan returns to the realm of Asian-inspired fantasy with “Never Ever After,” a bold departure from her celestial “Daughter of the Moon Goddess” duology. Where her previous work shimmered with mythological grandeur and sweeping romance, this Cinderella-inspired tale embraces a grittier, more morally ambiguous landscape that challenges readers to question the very nature of heroes and villains. A Thief’s Journey Through Treacherous Courts Nineteen-year-old Yining survives in the harsh Iron Mountains through cunning and thievery, her only companion a wooden ring left by her mother. When a magical carp delivers an enchanted flower that transforms her ring into something far more powerful—and deadly—Yining’s carefully constructed life shatters. Her step-aunt steals the ring, forcing Yining to infiltrate the Palace of Nine Hills, where she catches the attention of Prince Zixin, a ruler as beautiful as he is ruthless. What begins as a desperate quest for survival evolves into something far more complex. Tan subverts fairy tale expectations at every turn, crafting a narrative where glass slippers are replaced by political machinations, and the handsome …
