William Shatner and Neil deGrasse Tyson regaled an enthusiastic crowd with stories of everything from our understanding quantum physics to Shatner‘s space flight to the meaning of the universe on Wednesday night during a conversation dubbed “The Universe Is Absurd!” at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills. The event was actually the second of a two-night event wherein the close friends ribbed each other and shared personal anecdotes of their adventures together, including their 2024 trip to Antarctica, where they first met. The audience may have even learned a few things about astrophysics along the way. (“The electron is so small, we do not know how small it is,” Tyson shared. “Every measurement of the electron is smaller than our attempts to measure it. As far as we’re concerned, it’s infinitesimally small.”) The topic of Shatner’s age (95 years) came up quite often. In Rodrigo’s monologue, the 23-year-old singer began by exclaiming that it was “a dream” to be hosting the late night show for the first time. Jennifer Garner has an intense fight scene in the new season of The Last Thing He Told Me, but she didn’t need an introduction to her scene partner — she had previously bit a chunk out of his ear. The veteran actress, who is an executive producer and leading force of the Apple TV series, took the stage Tuesday at the streamer’s press day inside Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar where she shared the juicy tale that had co-star Nicolaj Coster-Waldau shocked and perplexed (in an amusing way). Following a clip of the scene introduced by moderator and executive producer Laura Dave, who authored the novel on which the series is based, Garner added some context to what the crowd of 300 journalists, influencers and content creators had seen on the big screen.
