Comcast Shares Jump Most Since 2008 On Plans To Separate Units

Comcast Shares Jump Most Since 2008 On Plans To Separate Units

Comcast shares jumped the most in nearly two decades on news that it plans to split NBCUniversal and Sky into a separate publicly traded company through a tax-free spin-off. The transaction, expected to close in about one year, would leave Comcast shareholders owning stakes in both. Comcast would remain centered around broadband, wireless, business services, and entertainment platforms, backed by a network that reaches more than 65 million homes and businesses. NBCUniversal, which will also include Sky, will house Universal’s film and TV studios, NBC, Telemundo, Peacock, Bravo, sports, news, and the company’s theme parks business. Comcast said the standalone media company will have the scale, content library, and intellectual property needed to compete with leading streaming platforms. Mike Cavanagh will become CEO of NBCUniversal, and former Comcast CFO Michael Angelakis will return as CEO of Comcast. Comcast expects to retain up to a 19.9% stake in NBCUniversal for up to one year after the spin-off and plans to monetize that position over time in a tax-efficient manner. The company said both businesses are expected …

Tesla Cybertruck sales inflated: SpaceX bought 1,279 units

Tesla Cybertruck sales inflated: SpaceX bought 1,279 units

New registration data confirms what Electrek has been reporting for six months: Tesla’s Cybertruck sales are being propped up by Elon Musk’s other companies. SpaceX alone bought 1,279 Cybertrucks in Q4 2025 — 18% of every Cybertruck registered in the US that quarter. Without those inter-company purchases, Cybertruck registrations would have fallen 51% year-over-year instead of the numbers Tesla reported. The figures come from S&P Global Mobility registration data first reported by Bloomberg’s Dana Hull. Of the 7,071 Cybertrucks registered in the US during the fourth quarter, 1,279 went to SpaceX. Another 60 units were registered to Musk’s other ventures — xAI, The Boring Company, and Neuralink — bringing the Musk-entity total to 1,339 vehicles, or roughly 19% of Q4 registrations. At the Cybertruck’s Q4 2025 pricing, that’s well over $100 million in revenue that Tesla effectively booked by selling trucks to companies Elon Musk controls. Two years after France introduced specialized units to combat domestic violence, results are mixed

At the Outraged Mothers rally, Place de la République, Paris, September 9, 2025. IAN LANGSDON / AFP Breaking down barriers within the French judicial system to better prosecute perpetrators of domestic violence – this was the goal of the specialized units to combat domestic violence (intrafamilial violence, VIF), launched in January 2024 in France’s judicial and appeal courts. These are not separate courts, but rather coordination hubs designed to bring together all key players in the justice process: sentence enforcement judges, juvenile judges, family court judges, lawyers, victim support groups, healthcare providers and others. “The creation of VIF units is part of the ongoing effort to break down silos in the justice system,” said Sacha Straub-Kanh, spokesperson for the Chancellerie, the French Justice Ministry’s central administration. According to figures provided by the ministry, as of October 17, 2025, 151 out of 168 judicial courts had established these units, or 90%, as had 30 out of 36 courts of appeal. “The results of the VIF units are therefore positive,” Straub-Kanh said. On the ground, however, advocacy …
