SpaceX files confidentially for IPO in mega listing potentially valued at $1.75 trillion, report says

SpaceX, the technology conglomerate founded by Elon Musk, reportedly filed disclosures confidentially with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ahead of an initial public offering. SpaceX could seek a valuation of $1.75 trillion, according to Bloomberg, which cited anonymous sources. Under SEC rules, a private company can file its IPO registration statement confidentially 15 days before it begins marketing its shares to public investors, allowing it to receive feedback from the agency in private. The company has also lined up an unusually large number of 21 banks to manage the mega IPO, internally codenamed “Project Apex,” Reuters reported Tuesday. The company expects to raise $75 billion, which would make it the largest IPO in history, far beyond oil giant Saudi Aramco’s $29 billion listing in 2019. SpaceX has raised an estimated $10 billion as a private company. Founded in 2002, SpaceX is the world’s leading space company, flying a fleet of reusable rockets and spacecraft, and operating a 10,000-satellite communications network, Starlink. Musk brought Silicon Valley culture to the staid world of space contracting and disrupted the …

Brookfield’s new AI unit Radiant valued at $1.3 billion after merger with UK startup, sources say

LONDON, Feb 27 : Brookfield Asset Management’s new AI infrastructure company Radiant has been valued at $1.3 billion after merging with London-based cloud computing firm Ori Industries, according to three people with knowledge of the matter and a document seen by Reuters. Radiant, a new company the Canadian asset manager created to provide on-demand access to artificial intelligence chips, said it had combined with Ori in a deal announced on Tuesday without disclosing any financial terms. All of Ori’s existing investors have rolled their stakes into Radiant, the sources said, adding that Brookfield injected fresh capital into the new company. Reuters could not determine how much of the valuation reflected Ori’s contribution. The valuation was established earlier this month, according to the document and one of the people. Reuters could not determine if it had changed since then. Brookfield and Ori declined to comment. The sources declined to be identified because the terms were not made public. RACE TO BUILD AI INFRASTRUCTURE Companies House filings show that Ori had 42.5 million pounds ($57.2 million) in …

Plaid valued at B in employee share sale

Plaid valued at $8B in employee share sale

Plaid, a company that connects financial applications to users’ bank accounts, enabling payments and data verification, has allowed employees to sell some of their shares at an $8 billion valuation, the company confirmed to TechCrunch on Thursday. The valuation represents a 31% increase from the $6.1 billion valuation the 13-year-old company achieved in April of last year, when it raised a $575 million round led by Franklin Templeton for partly the same purpose: purchasing shares from employees, including to help them cover the taxes associated with converting expiring restricted stock units (RSUs, a form of equity compensation) into shares. Despite its new, bigger headline number, Plaid is still valued at 40% below its $13.4 billion peak in 2021, when ultra-low interest rates drove a massive surge in fintech valuations. Such transactions have become increasingly common among private companies using liquidity as a retention tool. Recent examples include Stripe, which this week said it would allow employees to sell shares at a $159 billion valuation, as well as Clay, ElevenLabs, and Linear. Beyond retention and to …

Nvidia-rival Cerebras Systems valued at $23.1 billion in latest financing

Feb 4 : AI chipmaker Cerebras Systems said on Wednesday it raised $1 billion in a late-stage funding round that valued it at $23 billion, nearly tripling its valuation just over four months after its previous financing. The round was led by Tiger Global. Other investors included Benchmark, Coatue and Donald Trump Jr.-backed 1789 Capital. AI-linked companies have continued to draw billions in private financing as corporations and governments race to develop data centers for supporting the still-nascent technology. The race has made the chips required for computing power in these data centers a prized commodity, fueling rival Nvidia’s meteoric rise to the most valuable company in the world. The fundraising marks Cerebras’ second billion-dollar round since September, when it was valued at $8.1 billion, reflecting the investor allure for a company that could grow to become a key player in the AI-chip supply chain alongside Nvidia and AMD, which also participated in the round. It comes at a time when key AI players are looking to diversify their chip supplies. Reuters reported on Monday …

5 Small Behaviors That Separate Women Who Are Valued From Women Who Are Overlooked | Liza Caldwell

If you’ve ever been in unhealthy or downright destructive relationships, I’ll bet now you can quickly list all of the red flags you “should have” seen back then. You can tell us what to avoid and when to get out of there, but can you also recognize the red flags that you were sending up? After all, it takes two to dance the toxic relationship tango. What would your ex say about you? As women, we spend a lot of time figuring out if we want to stay in a particular relationship. Is it working for us? Does he value us in the way we ought to be valued — or does he tend to overlook?  It’s easy to settle into a good relationship and not give it a second thought. If everything is going well (for you), there’s no reason to second-guess it, right? Wrong. It’s equally important to stop and check in on our good relationships, too. Data security startup Cyera hits B valuation six months after being valued at B

Data security startup Cyera hits $9B valuation six months after being valued at $6B

Data security startup Cyera continues on a growth tear. On Thursday, it announced a $400 million Series F funding round at a $9 billion valuation. The New York-based outfit has now raised over $1.7 billion. This funding comes just six months after the previous $540 million round at a $6 billion valuation. The new round was led by funds managed by Blackstone with participation from existing investors including Accel, Coatue, Lightspeed, Redpoint, Sapphire, Sequoia, and others. Cyera offers what it calls data security posture management, a service that helps companies map out where all their sensitive data lives across cloud systems and databases, track how employees and applications use it, and identify security vulnerabilities. The rise of AI — which has increased both the volume of data that companies handle and concerns about data leaks — has helped Cyera sign up one-fifth of the Fortune 500 companies as customers and more than triple revenue in its last year, the company says, causing investors to eagerly pile in.
