It is the first time that Wicks, 37, has acknowledged the relationship on social media, following months of speculation. The former The Only Way Is Essex (Towie) star shared a number of black-and-white photos of himself and Attwood, which were taken on a recent trip to the party island of Ibiza, with his 2.1 million Instagram followers. They included a photo of the pair sunbathing on a boat and one of them snuggled up together on a beach. There were also group photos with their friends and a short video of Wicks backflipping off a boat and into the ocean. In the caption, Wicks wrote “I guess someone has …

Joe Wicks On Trying To Break A Tough Generational Cycle As A Parent

Joe Wicks On Trying To Break A Tough Generational Cycle As A Parent

When Joe Wicks and I sit down for a Teams meeting, we’re both fighting off one of the many winter illnesses that have been doing the rounds of late. We’re here to chat about why kids should sign up for the TCS Mini London Marathon in schools – but it’s another type of marathon that swiftly crops up in conversation, and that’s the momentous feat that is getting children into bed at the end of the day. Joe, who is founder of The Body Coach (and also earned another title as the “nation’s PE teacher” during the pandemic), lives with his wife Rosie, and their four children: Indie, 7, Marley, 6, Leni, 3, and Dusty, 1. Asked how he makes bedtime work, he lets me in on “one of the most incredible lightbulb moments” he had after someone he worked with asked him what his goals were, and he admitted he wanted to be more present around his kids. Now, he has an alarm on his phone that goes off every day at 6pm, which …

He was in living rooms at 9am, barking burpees at children while frazzled parents tried to remember how to lunge. “The nation’s PE teacher,” they called him, and the name stuck. “I haven’t heard that for ages,” he laughs, speaking to my colleague Emilie Lavinia on the The Independent’s Well Enough podcast. “It’s been a while… six years ago, in lockdown.” He insisted he never crowned himself, but for all the humility, he’s fond of the title. “It’s the proudest thing I’ve achieved.” Post-pandemic, Wicks has been busy. The Body Coach app, children’s books, a Channel 4 documentary, a small army of followers trying to sculpt abs in the morning before the school run, and now a cookbook called Protein in 15. Given the moment – the “protein era”, if …

Pete Wicks: “I don’t understand why more people don’t give a voice to the voiceless”

Pete Wicks: “I don’t understand why more people don’t give a voice to the voiceless”

Pete Wicks is very much a dog person. In fact, he thinks they’re “better than people”, he tells Radio Times exclusively. In Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake, now in its third series, he follows the work of the Dogs Trust centre in Basildon, where he rescued his French bulldog Eric in 2016. His French bulldog Peggy, who he adopted in 2018, recently passed away, and he revealed he’s adopted four-month old Rodney from Dogs Trust. “Whatever love you give dogs, you get back tenfold. People are quite cruel. I cannot abide by people who don’t treat animals with respect. I don’t understand why more people who have a bit of a platform don’t give a voice to the voiceless. That’s what I try to do in any way I possibly can. It means a lot to me,” Wicks says. Want to see this content? We’re not able to show you this content from Instagram.
