President Trump Calls for Federal Film and TV Tax Incentive

For some time now, the idea of a federal film and television tax incentive has had bipartisan support, but Republican lawmakers have seemingly been waiting on word from the White House. Now, it appears, that word has come. On Monday, President Donald Trump expressed support for the idea of a federal tax credit and posted that he wants to “get this done” in a lengthy Truth Social message. “Hollywood is a Complete and Total Disaster! Despite the name, it is getting very little work. There is no incentive to be there, and it is hurting California very badly,” Trump wrote. “Jon [Voight], and many others in the Industry, are suggesting we do Federal Tax Incentives in order to Make our Movie and Television Production Business GREAT AGAIN, perhaps GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE!” The President added that “meetings are being set up” with bipartisan leaders. “I am going to suggest that Republicans and Democrats get together, and immediately craft Legislation to save the Movie, Television, and Entertainment Business in America,” he continued. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers started their final set of practices before leaving to play the season opener in Australia with defensive end Nick Bosa still sidelined and tight end George Kittle ramping up to play. Coach Kyle Shanahan said before the team took the field Monday for the first of three practices before the team leaves the country that the plan was for both Kittle and Bosa to get on the field for team drills this week to prepare for the opener against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 11. But Bosa wasn’t on the field at all for the open portion of practice, while Kittle was participating in the non-added practice. Bosa is coming back from a torn ACL suffered in Week 3 last season. He began camp on the active roster doing individual drills but was shut down in early August after dealing with soreness in his surgically repaired right knee. It was very confusing and resulted in father wounds that I didn’t realize impacted me until later in life.  For much of my life, my dad and I had been close. My mom worked days while my dad was at business school, so he was the one who took me to school, picked me up, and fed me dinner. We were very similar, and I was so lucky to have him. Image: Voltpost San Francisco has launched a citywide curbside EV charging program, giving companies a clear path to install public chargers in neighborhoods across the city. The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) is now accepting applications from charging operators, while residents can use the city’s new ChargeUp SF map to nominate streets, public facilities, and other locations where they want chargers. That’s particularly useful in a dense city where many residents live in apartments or condos and don’t have a driveway or garage. “For San Franciscans without a garage or driveway, access to charging can determine whether going electric is even practical,” said San Francisco Environment Department director Tyrone Jue. “We’re now moving from testing curbside charging toward building a reliable network that gives more residents the opportunity to choose electric and helps cut transportation pollution.” Advertisement – scroll for more content Charging companies that qualify for an operator permit can then scout possible charger locations. The Food and Drug Administration on Aug. 27 granted emergency use authorization for Bimectin, the injection, for use within 24 hours of birth. The drug can also be used when castration is performed, or when a wound appears. It cannot be used in lactating dairy cows or in calves destined for veal. Bimectin is a generic version of Ivomec, which the FDA authorized in February. The FDA previously approved Bimectin for treating and controlling parasites in cattle. The application for Bimectin came from Bimeda Animal Health, an Ireland-based company. Based on available evidence, FDA officials concluded that the injection may prevent screwworm in cattle, and that the known and potential benefits outweigh known and potential risks. That information includes studies carried out in Brazil and Argentina in the 1990s, and a 2019 study conducted in Brazil, which found ivermectin injection prevented screwworm infestations in cattle, according to an FDA fact …
