Janet Jackson, 59, stuns with bold fashion statement during red carpet appearance in LA

Janet Jackson looked incredible as she stepped onto the red carpet at the Grammy Hall of Fame event in Beverly Hills on Friday night, ready for her hit 1989 album, Rhythm Nation 1814, to be honored and inducted.

The 59-year-old opted to showcase her fashion prowess at the event in a bold, oversized gray pinstripe suit with wide-leg trousers and a lengthy blazer. She added a white button-down shirt with a dramatic collar, and tied a loosely draped scarf around her neck.

Janet accessorized with pointed black heels and dangly gold earrings, and added a pop of color with her orange nail polish. She went full-glam for her makeup look with a pop of blush, and wore her voluminous curls down her back.

The veteran performer and sister of the late Michael Jackson is finally getting her flowers, with her 1989 album being inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Michael’s iconic albums Off the Wall and Thriller were previously inducted too, as were three of The Jackson Five’s singles, “I Want You Back”, “ABC” and “I’ll Be There”.

Janet’s glowing appearance at the event comes after it was revealed that she did not feature in the new biopic about her late brother’s life, Michael. While the film portrays her other siblings, including Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and La Toya, she did not appear, and neither did her sister Rebbie nor her brother Randy.

Janet did not disclose why she was not portrayed in the film, yet her sister, La Toya, shared that the “All For You” singer declined the offer from director Antoine Fuqua.

“I wish everybody was in the movie,” La Toya told Variety“She was asked, and she kindly declined, so you have to respect her wishes.” Antoine added: “I have so much respect and love for Janet, but you know, it’s okay. She’s supportive of Jaafar, and that’s what matters.”

Jaafar Jackson, son of Jermaine Jackson, portrays his uncle Michael in the film, and won the role after a worldwide casting search. Meanwhile, Janet shone a spotlight on two other family members in May as they celebrated their respective birthdays.

“The Queen of queens turns 96 today,” she began on social media in reference to her mother, Katherine Jackson. “A beautiful soul who has touched so many lives with quiet wisdom, enduring faith, and a love that never falters.”

“May God’s gentle grace surround you today & always, bringing you peace, sweet moments of laughter, and the deep comfort of knowing how very cherished you are. Every year with you is a treasure, and our hearts hold you with the deepest gratitude and love,” she declared.

Janet then paid tribute to her second-eldest sibling, Jackie. “Jackie, I feel so truly fortunate to call you my brother. You are loved far more than words can say, and my prayer for you today is that your heart overflows with peace, love, and joy.”
