Dwayne Johnson had the crowd in stitches following an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction at the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony for his friend, Emily Blunt, on Thursday. 

The Moana actor looked dapper in a beige-colored suit with a sheer white shirt underneath as he took to the podium to share some words about Emily, with whom he co-starred in Jungle Cruise and The Smashing Machine. 

Before beginning his speech, Dwayne could be seen quickly wiping at his pants after an apparent wardrobe malfunction. “Spilled a little drink on my pants,” he told the crowd as he began his speech.

The audience burst into laughter over the embarrassing moment, as he added: “I was like, ‘I feel good, I feel cool right now, until…'” 

“Podium’s got me, right? It’s covering? Thank god,” he laughed. “Well, it’s a way to start off the morning.” Dwayne then launched into a touching speech about Emily, who received her star on the Walk of Fame alongside her brother-in-law and The Devil Wears Prada co-star, Stanley Tucci. 

“The one word that I think reflects Emily’s mana and spirit is ‘present’ because she is so deeply present, as I’ve learned over the years,” he shared.

“Every single day, knowing Emily, as many of us do, that is one grateful woman who will wake up feet on the ground, being grateful about every moment.”

“I feel like when you’re grateful about every moment, that then leads to the thing I think we all look for, which is joy and peace of mind. And those are all the things I think that make up Emily and so much more,” he said. Emily then took to the stage as she shared her thanks for the honor. “It’s very difficult to sum up how meaningful this is to me, and the juggernaut that showed up to speak about me has just blown my hair back,” she began.

“You guys and the great loves of my life, who are all here, have made life such a deep privilege.” Also in attendance at the event were Meryl Streep, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr., all of whom she has worked with before, as well as her husband, The Office star John Krasinski.

“And this world and this playground that we get to experience such a great privilege, and I’m so honored to share it with the Tucc [Tucci] behind me,” she added. Emily is incredibly close with Stanley, who married her sister, Felicity Blunt, in 2012.

Meanwhile, Dwayne and Emily have been friends for several years, with the former wrestling star even naming her his “best friend” in an interview with Vanity Fair.  

“If Emily and I weren’t best friends, I don’t know that we could’ve gone to the places we went to,” he said of their respective performances in The Smashing Machine. “That closeness created the trust, which then allowed for the vulnerability, which then allowed for [us to] go anywhere.”
